So I went back and found a few of Fluffy Rabbit's threads.

A lot of them are almost as funny as "GIMME TEH CODEZ"... in fact, I halfway wonder if he was trying to achieve that sort of infamousness, due to the amount of trolling he did.

I really love Python. I think I have said that only 4 times in this thread so far, now that's 5.

Besides Panda3D and PyGame, does anyone know of any game libraries to use with Python? I'd like to try to write a small game in it, something really easy, like Pong.

It's hard to believe that it was 7 years ago that I first became interested in programming and game development. It's not hard to believe, however, that I still haven't finished one single project in that entire time.

Oh, I've done plenty of demos. In fact, if you to pages 240-300 of this very thread, you'll see me talking about making my level editor in DBP and even posting screenshots. I just never finished it because the scope of the game I wanted to make was bigger than I could program at that current time.

However, now that I know a LOT more about programming, I think I could do it. Not with DBP though, probably Unity, or even Panda3D, since I'm in love with Python at the moment.

We'll see.

I made a complete game excluding my QBasic rubbish (DBP was my first time back coding in years, since teens). So I made this game to teach myself DBP with every intention of then going on to make games I wanted. Well I never made another game so Penisman became my bloody legacy. Gawd I was such an idiot a few years back. Sadly, I actually played through it recently. It's badly coded and very ametuer. Graphics on Stage 1 sucked, but the rest were okay. Problem was I never found anyone who could beat Stage 1

Hmm, SDL is passing around user data in user-defined events as two void pointers...

Quick straw poll:
1) Treat user events completely differently and make them separate from SDL events.

2) Treat them the same and restrict them to the same restrictions (they're unsigned int arrays of data with a size int).

3) Implement custom event queue that handles all non-SDL events.

Which do you think I should do?

Ogre uses the observer pattern where as SDL uses event polls. From what it sounds, you've made the design choice to base your code on event polls, so I think you should go with 3).

Just responded on that thread in DGDK, that code sure does look ugly.

As for my dilemma, I think I'll implement an observer pattern actually. I wish I could use something like Qt's signals and slots feature but that's quite involved(Qt's implementation uses an extra code generator before compilation).

writelines() is a little misleading, because it doesn't append a newline character automatically (\n).

In your case, the most elegant way would be:

I have an interesting question. So on Windows 7 Home Premium (no idea if this works on other OSs or not), if you take the MS Paint shortcut, and open it as 'Raw Data' in Audacity, it sounds very interesting...

Here, I have included a compressed file that includes the audio file and a copy of the Paint shortcut the audio came from.

The audio starts out as mostly just noise, but around 13 seconds, it gets interesting for a second. Then more noise, and then at 28 seconds, there is more interesting stuff. Then there is quite a bit of noise, and at 1:23, things get very very interesting--it sounds like music, and specifically, a trumpet.

Anyone have any clue why this is?? Opening other shortcuts yields a very short bit of white noise. I have tried this on multiple computers, with consistent results.
