Basically a company called 'BT Open Reach' manages the network and defines what you can and cannot choose of Fibre options...
I was on a maximum 76D/19U and now even though I can get over 50-60 downstream they decided the line only supported 38... even though I had proof it can handle more than what they are saying... so I accepted the reduction in uplink from up-to 19 down to 9.5 and a downstream from average 60 now limited to 38, the only benefit of it all is I save a little cash on my broadband budget... :/

:/
The importance of my broadband being fast relates to how much just one of my systems reports; I used over the past 60 days... 1.6TB~ and on my new gamer rig I downloaded some 450~GB of steam games alone just last week...
For me the uplink was more important than the downlink, having the bandwidth for my server in-house was critical for more users accessing it...[Now removed though] also for future game server testing... now I have a 33%~ reduction in bandwidth/tunnelling whatever... :/
The good news is I might be able to get the higher rate in a new property when I move...
I always stream XBOX Video movies in HD all night long while sleeping

tallies up to over 24GB a day

love that repeat option! mind you Amazon Prime HD video sucks badly also no repeat feature...
My mobile reports I have used over 17GB over WiFi in the past 30 days, but then that was mainly the phone data backup feature... another 2GB on mobile data...
Yeah I suppose I am classed as a HEAVY USER lmao
[Also Lee made another video today...
