Newcomers DBPro Corner / displaying text on top of sprites

how can i force text to display on top of sprites? I can't find any commands for regulating this sort of thing, and DBpro seems to render sprites over text by default, regardless of which one I draw first. I feel so n00b.

I haven't tried it before, but you could try something like:

make your text a sprite by grabbing the text into an image and create the sprite with this at the end of the sprite order.
