Manic- Well I thought you'd have a different post too, but yes I can see from your points as well. I take a little offense to your comment about my ghost-hunting, I take it very seriously but I'm not here to argue about it, it is possible I didn't see anything, it is possible that I did, guess thats all we could ever say until its proven.

As far as being a ghost, can't say it would be the best existence but I have a great life, what would I be so sad about? I could see my friends again in another dimesion and live with them forever, that doesn't seem so terrible now does it?

I get this thing called sleep paralysis, basically I wake up during the night and can't move...its pretty scary stuff . Anyway what I've found is that alot of people when having this sleep paralysis experience what would be deemed to other to be 'the paranormal', things such as having 'an out of body experience' or seeing people in the room, infact some of the stuff I've read is very scary. So anyway my point being is that pretty much finished off any beleif I had in ghosts/alien abductions.

Quote: "I woke up because I kicked something in the bed. I pulled away the quilt and underneath, just below my feet, was a white, as if the light didn't affect it, child.
I screamed but didn't have a voice, so my other decition was to run to my parents room, but they, ofcorse, didn't believe me (or believed, but didn't want to frighten me more)."

That definatly sounds like a one off case of sleep paralysis (well apart from the lack of paralysis).

That's because you are thinking of yourself being conscious and not existing, if that makes sense
Almost like being paralysed.

Quote: "Heavy breathing in my room @ night. "

Was that you?

A lot of people accept things as "ghosts" because they are just too scared to find out what is actually happening.
I used to live in a little village that was pretty creepy at night, and for years my friends thought there was a ghost outside the church that you could see from the end of the path up to it. It turned out to be a lamppost shining on a gravestone; still pretty scary but not a ghost

In programming, nothing exists

@Zombie: I'm not sure how you can take offense to me saying you're a "self professed ghost hunter", because... well you are. You came onto this thread and said;
Quote: "My friends knowing I was an avid ghost hunter at the time..."

If you were taking offense to me saying you'd already made up your mind... Well, someone who hunts ghosts has already made up their mind haven't they?

If it was the fact that I wrote "and all" after Ghost Hunter, and suggested a flippant attitude to you going hunting for ghosts... what can I say, its not meant to be personal, I'm just flippant about ghosts in general. I'd suggest that if I told you I believe in a celestial teapot, you might be flippant about it, no?

In response to the Life as a ghost part; I think you're making an assumption that all ghosts are sad or had tortured lives or deaths. What about people that didn't even realise they died? If you believe in a soul etc. then whats to stop it believing that it is still alive? If you couldn't see your body, or you didn't see your death coming, would you know?
How exactly does one ascend (or more ominously, descend) to the after life? If you believe in Heaven and Hell, perhaps you could say that Hell would be living on earth as ghost rather than a place with lots of fire - you'd be surrounded by the richness of life, but unable to experience it, that truely would be hell.

I don't have a sig, live with it.

Manic- No no no..please allow me to apologize for my behaviour earlier, I was very tired and a little cranky from lack of caffiene, you bring up very good points and I'm sure we could have a very detailed and calm debate about the spiritual if you really wanted to.

So no I do not take offense, but I guess I'll always be out there searching, taking down one haunted place after the next, when I get some free time I want to go to the worst places that have scared other hunters silly..the places that one guy goes in for the night and the next morning he's gone cause he ran out in the night screaming.

As far as the mental aspect, I have a strong feeling that there is life after death, call it intuition I guess but its just a strong certanity in me that it will all be okay and its just not one big nap.

As I said, it is in the human spirit to *want* something else. After all the worst you say is a nap. You dream and wake up from naps. Not the worst I can imagine by a long shot. A nap would be freaking great.

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing
