Hi everyone.
A few months ago I downloaded the trial version of DarkBASIC and installed DarkEDIT to see if I could try my hand at programming.
This was the first time I ever programmed, and I'm glad to say that it was very easy. I used a code from the codebase that specified what controls do what, and I combined it with the monster hunt tut. to make a small game that was a bunch of un-textured cubes and one sphere that you navigated through the cubes. The code is so easy, that I had my first FUNCTIONAL game within 30 minutes.
But, before I spend $40, does anyone have any advice for me? And can they tell me things that are bad about the program? And the most important of all:
Should I get the pro version?
Thanks in Advance!

This question is asked on average at least once a week and everyone must be getting tired of answering it by now.

Have a scan over the previous post topics on this board and you won't have to go far back until you see someone else ask the same question.

People like me who use DBC say it's great for beginners to start with. Those who use DBP will say it's better (it is) and you should get that.

Look in your wallet and make up your own mind...

Good job on your first program, and always remember if you do get dbc, patience is the key to everything.

Your about to get pwned.
