Hey guys, just wanted to share a little problem with my PC boot up,

Every time I turn it on, it makes a 5 second long beeping sound, then sits there, then makes it again...in a loop.

But it seems to boot up normally if I literately "tap" on the case, like someone knocking on a door . I feel like I'm trying to get a lawnmower engine going by pulling a string.

I have never had this problem before, and all my important projects are backed up, but still it's quite annoying, and I'm afraid it's getting worse.

Any advice would be great guys, thanks.

The mobo is probably touching part of the case. Check the mobo mount, make sure it isn't sinking and hitting the case.

Could cause a serious problem in the mobo if its doing that (dead-mobo).

Otherwise, I have no idea what would be doing it.

Possibly something with your RAM, make sure each memory stick is seated properly. If the problem still happens, try only one stick at a time and see if it works.

Check all cables inside and out.

I think it beeps if keyboard out.

You might also get beeps if you have 2 different speeds of memory and the slowest one is not in slot one. Effectivly a warning it will ignore half the memory,

I had a stragne problem before too.

Check to see whether your ram is loose, long annoying beeps usually happen when something is loose.
