I moved my server to a new location to give a presentation and it wouldn't boot up ever since.

Just gives a flashing green light on the back of the power supply. It's a HP PC.

Has anyone had experience of resolving this?

The only way i can get the light solid is to remove the power connector from the motherboard but that's not good LOL so I'm guessing dead motherboard?

Wierd how it died just from being switched off moved downstairs and switched back on. Puts me off buying HP again for sure, but hey it was a compo prize so i not realy lost anything.

it could be just about anything. I'd try putting in a new psu first.

no.
open the case and be sure no cards or wires popped loose in transit, then you could start checking bits like psu etc

Good point, could try re-seating your components.

I tried all the normal stuff like pullin things out and reseting and got nada.

I got another PC and swapped over the power cables and it does look like the PSU is dead.

Got wake up early and get to Scan Computers before the queues build up!

OK got new PSU, supposed to be silent, hmm trading standards should look into that claim, well was only £11.15 so what did i expectt

Up and running now , but found the onboard network card was dead as well. Checked BIOS it's enabled there but windows always says it's dissabled, so I'm assuming it's dead also.

Wierd, must have been some kind of electrical spike through the NIC and PSU as i was disconnecting all the cables to move it.

Im running a search engine, some web sites and my online game from it, previously it was running a cloned MMORPG.

It's only a HP Pavilion Celeron 2.5Ghz, 760Mb RAM, 320G HDD and 7600GPU.

It must have heard I was planning to replace it with a Core 2 Duo and though "damn I'll show him and break down the day before his presentation!"

It's been on 24x7x365 for 2-3 years so I guess it's worn out
