Just after this years convention (which is now just over a month away), I'll be closing down my account for this site - which means all of my totally wonderful and informative posts will disappear - so if you want anything of mine, then it'll be probably only be on my website.

I'll bet that you don't! I reckon that in 3 month's time you'll be a regular contributor again.

Want to make that bet?

Daniel did suggest it as a way of preserving all my posts, but I'd want a total break - and besides, everything will be on my website...

Ill have to go with BatVink, Ive "Left" 3 times now, and I always end up coming back. To be honest, Ive thought about leaving again becuase of the sheer disregard of DBPro towards FPS Creator X10, but Ill still end up coming back over and over again.

You don't have to close your account. Just change your password to some random keyboard mashes so you don't end up coming back

Or drop your PCs into the bath just to make extra sure. Then the ultimate sacrifice.... Yes, destroy the consoles that can access the web too. And your phone. And the PDA, yes the PDA! Now you are cleansed. Go to the pub my son and get ****faced.

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

He's not. By the end of October, he'll be hanging around here like a bad smell. Nothing to do with addictive forums, wonderful mods and the ability to select your forum theme.

I'm still willing to place that bet.

Wait a minute, didn't you say you were going to leave a long time ago? Something to do with moving on to OSX and leave us in the dust?

I might remember this wrong, but i'm sure there was something like that, or perhaps you just said you were going to be here LESS often.

Anyways, i won't bet a thing. Perhaps a carrot though.

How's OS X dev going then?

I bought Programming in Objective-C by Stephen Kochan and Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X by Aaron Hillegass. Both come recommended on the interweb.

Of course I ain't got round to reading them yet. That would be far too much like money well spent...

And for a message addressed to your faithful worshippers it's not helping them out much is it. If you want real stalkers you've got to at least tell us* where you're going to be hanging out instead of TGC (or did you just not want to mention Blitz lol)

*obviously by 'us' I mean 'them'. Obviously.

No, I mentioned earlier in the year that I will be leaving after the convention.

When I get my FX-200, it'll be a 4 way development system - WIndows, Linux, Mac and FX-200, all using SDL and C.

How about this for a wager, then BatVink : If, I can stay away from the DBPro forums for at least 91 days (by not posting anything) after next months conference has finished, you have to write a piece in the next months newsletter lauding all my fine plugins and other bits and pieces I have written in DBPro/GSDK over the many years I have had the software.

However, if by some strange phenomenon, I should happen to partake in the forums, then I'll write a interestingly witty piece about by time using DBPro and GSDK.

Why delete the account? It makes no real sense. Obviously you have a want to be here. Just simply visit us, or don't come back at all. I don't see why we have to have your account and all your posts deleted, there's useful information in them I'm sure, no?

I'm pretty sure the forum admin can lock your account, but not delete all your posts. Then you can happily have closure and we can happily refer to your posts if need be. Chipmunks and rainbows and all that fun stuff...

I find that I tend to drop in and out of the forums more infrequently nowadays. But that is mostly because of life throwing lots of interesting stuff at me over the past 6 months. I'll never be able to say I've left the coding scene entirely. It'd be like saying that I've decided to stop breathing.

I certainly haven't given up development of great stuff - its just done over multiple operating systems. Unfortunately as DBPro is Windows only, its use has now depreciated...

I'm going for 99.9% of the market - the remaining 0.1% are C64 users, which I cant cater for.

Besides, going for Linux & Mac, your game is more likely to stand out.
