Hey all,

I found a great new music site that allows you to download unlimited songs from tons of different artists. These are commercial artists by the way.

How do the publishers make their money?

It's all from ads on the site. You also have to renew your membership every 30 days.

You download their manager to get the DRM'ed songs. You can play them on any media player in XP or Vista that supports DRM, and any one of those fancy DRM music players. It does NOT work with iPods (yet). These are not MP3s.

Anyways, this only works for residents of the US and Canada. It's handy for me because I can just download a crapload of songs at work legally and listen to them when I'm working. If you absolutely need to have music where you can burn a CD or take them with you on your iPod, feel free to go somewhere else and pay.

Wait, it doesn't work with Ipods yet, but if you want, you can burn them on a CD and take them with your IPOD?

No, you can't burn a CD with the songs either.

It's South of Australia...

Seems cool, hope they release it in the UK, otherwise it would be a kick in the teeth - but it's a cool idea as I can now get a taster of bands I haven't heard without the 30 samples that don't justify it or by more regrettable means.

Bloody Europeans, a bunch of mongrel freaks, especially the British, all high and mighty, think they're better than everyone...

Well I'm sure our countries will come to some agreement if it means the artists still get their money and makes everybody happy.

Happiness is not allowed n the music industry. The FCC has made sure of that.

Last time I checked, Canada is part of North America.

Oh yah, and our dollar was equal to the US dollar today for the first time in 31 years. Booyakasha. </offtopic>

Oh lol, thought you said US and Canada, not north America haha. I saw that, I thought it surpassed the dollar too. I seriously hope the next president can fix this cluster of an economy bush created. Oh and not trying to start a political debate. So don't try.

Hey quit with the political chat please.

And it's not only the US dollar that is doing poorly-- the Canadian real estate and retail markets are soaring, plus our unemployment rates are at all-time lows. Our dollar is actually rising, too!

Anyways lol. How does the download manager work? I says type letters to begin download. So how do I know how far the download has come along?

Jeku, who really gives a crap on what the value of a Canadian dollar is worth to USD? I mean, sure you might, but how does that really impact the USA? Or once in 2001 a PS2 in a Canada Costco was 450 canada dollars and like $200 in USA. When if you converted it, it was like 150 USD.. I think that's how it was... But would a PS2 still be $450 in Canada if there were PS2 in the states for $200 USD Still?

The download manager is actually pretty primitive. The only way to check to see if you're downloading something (I've found so far) is to go on the website. It will give you a progress bar of your progress .
