can a explosion like a barrel being hit, trigger a fire decal using a script?

And is there a manual for scripting?

I have a solution for this.

After reading your post I did a quick search and saw a bunch of threads asking for similar e.g. flaming barrels etc so put something together.

By changing the "rundecal=0" value to 2 in the "flamable" destroy script, this will make a decal repeat at the point where the barrel exploded. However, it seems to run the explosion decal by default, so you'll have to figure out how to make it run a "fire" decal instead.
