I took the main drum loop out of the NIN song Me I'm Not (Attached). I've always liked the sound of the drums, and I'd like to know what I need to get loops/sounds like that.

I know there was a proggie called Hammerhead which could do a lot of stuff.

Otherwise, I recommend getting drums, a metal band and lots of practive.

There's a program called Hydrogen, it's a drum looping program. It's really really good, with lots of drum samples available. Check it out.
