Would you believe it only cost me 170 bucks? Cheap as!
AUD, if anyones wondering.
Cant wait to fill it up with my stuff.
The reason i got one is because we have two comps, a laptop and a new uber comp with vista and everything. ive decided to keep all my important stuff in my HD so i dont need to keep moving my stuff everywhere.

Yes, it is a good thing.
currently im migrating all my stuff into it.

Ive been there just once, and i dont like sydney. Stuffy, dirty, old.
Deserted shopping malls except for the arcade, which is packed.
I like some of the suburbs around it though

I just bought a 500gb external HD on Tuesday for $120(USD)!

Should make backing things up MUCH easier. So far, I am loving it.

Haha, wrong thread Chris!

For external drives, you can Turn an old harddrive into an external drive. When doing research for it, I found that external drives were ~$100 more expensive than the same sized internal drives (ie, almost double the price for a 128GB drive).

No WAY! That is so unfair!
Just shows what you can achieve with a bit of heavy looking.

I dont think i trust myself to turn a harddisk into an external one, even though it costs heaps less.

it's about as difficult as buying a 15 dollar housing, screwing the hard drive in, and then snapping the housing shut. It's about as risky as drinking water

Actually, I didn't look at all. I just took a drive to the closest Best Buy store and bought what seemed to give the most for the price. I didn't even bother looking at other stores

To take it a step further, I didn't even have to pay for it. My work bought it for me because I have been using my personal laptop for a lot of business stuff. I told them that my HDD was getting full and I needed a new one. So, I went out that day and bought it with the company credit card
