A new game came out, Stranglehold, that has some of the highest system requirements in history. These are the MINIMUM requirements.

* Windows XP SP2 / Vista (Games for Windows compliant)
* Dual Core Processor
* 2 Gigs of Ram
* Nvidia 7800 or high / ATI x1300 or higher
* Disk space: 15 gigs

Dear god.

The game isn't even that fun! I played it on the 360 and it was actually pretty boring, way to repetitive.

Definitely made for the "next gen" game consoles like 360 and PS3 with system requirements like that. So how long will 2GB RAM and single core CPUs still be standard? Coming next year we might see 4GB RAM and dual cores be standard. Not to forget that DDR3 memory is on the rise with quad core following.

Dude, typo. The Disk Space required is 50 GB during installation!!

WTF IS WRONG WITH THE DEVELOPERS! I don't care how nice the game looks, it should never require that much space.

50 GB, that's 1 dual layer Blu-ray disc. I would assume it ships compressed on a DVD but to allow quicker load times it has to be uncompressed like it's on the BD (for PS3).

Just read that Heavenly Sword uses the large capacity of the BD to store speach in various languages, even smaller ones like Swedish and Finnish. I've also heard that Lair uses all 50 GB of one disc, not sure what's on it exactly.

I think that what's really gonna take up a lot of space in general is textures. The texture details nowadays and the amount of layers used really calls for massive storage.

Wow. That's really all I can say. Are these game companies really that obsessed with making us upgrade our PCs??

Let's see how many people actually take the time to read this...
