Hello @ all.

After nearly 1 year of not posting, i am back with a new project.
I learned a lot and improved my skills, so i finally on a level that makes me think about creating a serious project with fpsc.
It is on a very early stage, but i want to post some screenies to get some opinions.

First the Story:
Mankind in the year 2431.
For about 100 years humans are able to travel with almost 10% lightspeed. Now they are able to explore, mine and colonise the known solar system. But right now something appeard in orbit of unranus, the 7. planet of the solar system. Right at that moment, clark higgins, a former bounty hunter, managed to escape mars prison in a one man space vessel, heading to the outer territories of the solar system. So his eyes where the first, to see the unknown ship. But if you think, aliens trying to invade us, you are not even close, it is much more worse. And remember, there is always an option!

Goals to reach with my project are:

Custom Segments : 90% +
Custom Entities : 70% +
Custom HUD
Custom Weapons : 100%
Levels : 20+
Storyline told via rendered cutscenes
Custom enemies : 100%

This is a big goal to reach, i know. But it is worth the try.
So here are my first screenies.

I like the segments an awful lot dude.

in the penultimate shot, is that a massive archway, or are you just crouching?

Thanks Butters.

The last one is a tunnel (7 Segments), no crouching.

Looks really good, the screenies look great, and the story sounds fantastic. Good luck, you'll need it if you want all those goals to be accomplished, that's alot of work dude, I wouldn't be able to do that, only a few people probably could, hopefully your one of 'em.
Could this game in some way be compared to PREY, if you've played that, if not and you have an XBox 360, you should rent it, could give you some inspiration and ideas for the game, except for the spirit thing and walking on walls, that would be cool that was possible to do in FPSC though.
Do you have a title yet.

Not really sure what yur saying there, or what it means or what it has to do with the story. Can you elaborate.

@ Troy

Yes "The option" is the game title.
Sounds weird in some way, i know, but it will be explained during the game.

Oh, i forgot, yes i know prey and it was awesome. I take some inspiration from games like Quake, Doom, Halo etc. for my level design. Actually i play halo3 on my xbox and remodeled my hangar a little after that.

@robertf

the tunnel segment is made by me. sorry, but at this moment i dont give it away. but i think i will release it (along with some other stuff) for free when the game is finished.
Thanks for the comments.

Perhaps someone can help with a little problem:

The airlock on screen number three is an animated entity.
75 frames for the airlock to open and get stuck half the way.
The animation is there, checked it via the animation viewer i downloaded somewhere from this board.
But for some reason i cant get it activated. I tried some scripts (the activateany.fpi and others) but no movement.
If someone is willing to help me, i can send you the entity via mail and you can keep it if you want.
Thanks in advance

Awesome work Torti, I'm a huge HALO fan as well, but I am no longer allowed to play M games, no questions about that please. I miss it though, and I'm wanting to make a HALO type game called CREED.
Anyway, keepup the good work, this game is really coming along, the story leaves me wanting more.

The screenshots are very good, particularly the first one. Reminds me of the Truth and Reconciliation hanger bay.

And one more thing, (beware the shameless plug) I made a Halo style hud, which is free to use, even if you intend to sell the game. I'm just in it for the recognition really :p. Find it here, just scroll down a bit:

And here a look up the elevator shaft.
Very much WIP until now.
The shaft will be much more demolished when finished.
The idea is, that the player has to climb up 1 level using the destroyed parts, a little jump and run. Then, when he reaches the exit, the destoryed cabin (not on the screenie now) will fall down the shaft.
Tested the scripting for that with some other models and it worked fine, lets see if i can get this to work.

Greetings

Finally a non-horror game
Looks very nice indeed! Good luck!

May I ask how many and what kind of sci-fi weapons have you used for this? I can see the assault rifle only.
