Sept 30, 2007: Hooray! Here is the latest beta. I made a post about it just scroll down a bit and you'll find the details... Well here is the url:

http://files.filefront.com
/myfirstgame+installerexe/;8685469;/fileinfo.html

remember this is one url just put them both in.
__________________________________________________________________

Sept 29, 2007 I have made a beta
test. You can download it at
http://files.filefront.com/nonamegameexe/;8675418;

It is an installer so just go through it and the game should be loaded.

Please do not comment on the skybox(I used the wrong one), voices(bad quality), the cutscene(really bad quality) or the texture on the shotgun(I know it isn't there) PLEASE give CONTRUCTIVE CRITICISM on the look of the game itself etc.

And if you think of a name I can use for the game please tell me.

There will be 8 levels to the game. I have finished them all so all I have to do is fix up some things(I think)

Story:

Level1-You are the captain of a ship(not explained in beta) Your ship was just attacked and boarded by the Vegans (bad people) in the first level you have to get off of the ship(not explained in beta)

level2-Then you go down to an old abandon storehouse. Once you get out of there you meet some friends and you go up to another ship.

level3-5 - It is there that they tell you that the vegans invaded a spacestation. so you go to the space station and eliminate everyone there.

Finally, you go to an asteroid and make sure the enemy doesnt set up a base. And then you learn that a human(your commander) was responsible for the whole thing etc.

This will be updated. I will change all of the glitches. Remember what this is is a beta. I will post more screen shots etc.

If you dont want to download the beta here is the first screenshot.

I'll try to add more scenery

Quote: "Game play 5/10 Wolfenstein 3d style."

Yeah I though it had a "room by room" like style to it to. Maybe more guys on patrol etc.

Quote: "voice overs 1/10 atleast you had voice overs."

I cannot fix that yet...

Quote: "Playability 10/10 no cut scenes till the end."

thanks

That I should be able to fix.

I knew it!!! When I saw those PETA activists last time, and especially the thin, emaciated, pale-faced "Go Vegan" crusaders among them, reminding me of "Land of the Dead", I KNEW they are evil...

Allright, a few tips:

1. Try to implement something into the walls for higher detail grade. Static entities with the a fitting design are making the difference between a bland walled room and interesting facility.

2. use lighting well. I always suggest to try the the light either in an architecture software or even in "real" if you have a similar building at hand.

But I have to admit, it`s pretty good for a 1st game.

Well I got finished with the game and all I can say is that I am kinda impressed, for some reason I had low hopes on how it would play but you proved me wrong. Well most of the problems was brought up by Drapes#10 and Ertlov. But the one thing I want to point out the most is the hundreds of guns, there didn't seem to be a them with them. Other than that it was a good first try and hope to see more work in the future.

Peace
GL

Thanks, I'll try it.

Okay, some of the levels were not lighted at all(I don't know why)
I'm lighting some of them now.

Thank you.

Does that mean your saying the bad guys should have weapons A and B
and the humans should have guns C and D? I don't really understand...

[qoute]for some reason I had low hopes on how it would play but you proved me wrong.[/quote]
thank you

Okay I am now in the process of lighting the last level and making a few changes. The next beta will have:

A modified first level(a few new rooms and a puzzle)
Maybe a new level in between levels 6 and seven
A modified last level(lighted)
A modified second level(lighted)
and maybe more...

Well here is the new beta. It has a few minor changes to it. The next one will almost definately include a new level

http://files.filefront.com/myfirstgame+installerexe
/;8685469;/fileinfo.html

Note this is one url. So put both parts in to find the site.

It includes the following
The first level has an added puzzle (find a key)
I've added more lights to the second level (I think it looks much better)
The last level has a place with a lot of ammo near some dead people.
The last level is lighted(looks way better)

I sort of ran into a problem while I was building a different beta(I have a new one now but it takes hours to load up onto filefront)

Here is a screenshot of what happened(it didn't crash though, when I pressed ok it kept on compiling)

You should stop changing the weapons (because of the hands), It kind'ove gets annoying no offense but it ain't that great but for a first try I like it.

I have made a multiplayer map. Uploading now. Screenshots coming soon.

EDIT: first screenshot here.
NOTE this map was originally single player(the sixth level) it wouldn't build so I turned it into a Multiplayer.
