Beacuse it is specificly stated in the AUP as a subject that is off limits:

AUP:
Quote: "3.9 Debate about any form of creationist / evolutionary theories"

Why?
Because any harmless discussion about evolution eventually EVOLVES into an ugly flame filled argument about religion. It happens every single time.

@INH
evolution leads to religious debates, and religious debates lead to the dark side

Although I'm not arguing against the AUP (please don't shoot me)
I think it is kind of stupid banning topics just because people have different views. Why can't people just accept it when someone doesn't agree with them. The world has gotten too politically correct and it's gonna turn us all into psychopaths

I don't think this forum has to worry about being politically correct when it comes to discussing evolution, religion or politics.

You do realize that whole skeletons exist of these creatures?"

But why does it have to be a reptile? Why does it have to be 65 billion years old? Who knows, it could some other type of animal that became extinct.

I am entitled to my opinion and you are entitled to yours. Discussion over I would like to forget about it.

Because it's never about people accepting each other for their differences. It *always* goes down in flames, and TGC doesn't want it as part of their company forums. There are many other forums out there that would be glad to have those kinds of debates.

When it challenges the Christian faith it's classed as religious discussion, though we were talking about the discovery of Dinosaur bones rather than evolution, but it still challenges points of the Christian bible - though a lot of Christians have come to accept that the dinosaurs existed with the evidence before their eyes, others believe it is a test faith or that they really didn't exist as they trust the doctrine of the bible.

Which is fair enough, you may believe what you want to believe and discuss it (but not here), but to enforce that belief on others like declaring 'they didn't exist' is another matter...because it's called preaching. Anyway, that may explain Pyramid's motives and well, lets leave it there, you know, I just thought I'd add that before people declare ignorance in their minds. (though I will say I disagree with his view point, but you know not everyone can agree on everything)

And that would be called a mass de... sorry I couldn't help myself...but to be fair, you walked into it.

Nice way to get the last word in there, knowing that we cannot reply without breaking the AUP, but knowingly doing so yourself.

At risk of getting this thread locked:
lets be honest, religion is only a banned subject because it is ridiculous and there are no facts to back it up. Every other topic can be argued because logic applies. So don't waste your time arguing with religious people because they really don't value logic at all. Why if someone starts talking about faeries and spirits talking to them in the night do we dismiss them as crazy, but if they use the word God we have to tread carefully around them and be sure not to offend them.

So maybe the Bible is a test of faith? ha ha

^That's why you don't talk about religion on TCG

Sorry Pyramid, I have nothing against you I just don't like organised religion.

I am a Christian, so do I not value logic then? I think the fact that a member of any religion is posting on this thread proves your point to be incorrect. Programming is one of the most logical things a person can do.

The Bible mentions dinosaurs, so there is no test of faith.

Without going into religious debate, the bible does not explicitly mention dinosaurs, but creatures that some people suspect may have been dinosaurs.

Well, I'll give that one to you Jerico, but there is no other known animal that completely fits the descriptions. But yeah, keep it away from debates.

It would still be a "dinosaur" even if we discovered they were oddly shapen mammals of some sort.

Not only did you get the post locked, you also get to have a little slap. Your post is EXACTLY why this type of discussion is banned. It is complete disregard of repect for other people's views that is what always makes things go south. I could care less what your views are. Your post is only trolling for flames from people with different beliefs/non-beliefs than yourself.
