I've got a building that has a steam decal in it's basement. It is behind a closed door in a stairwell. Yet, I can hear it everywhere and of course, it gets louder when I get closer but I can be on the floor directly above it.

I've tried using a trigger zone and apparently am doing something wrong but not really sure this is the best way.

I've also searched the scripts forum thread and have come close, just not quite it. I think if I opened a door and could activate it (and it remain activated) then I'd have something. But then I'd have to deactivate it going through the same door somehow.

Any ideas?

If you dont want any sound att all being played just change the appear script from repeatsound to the same script that main uses.

Good luck

It's been convered a number of times now but;

Do as BIG Viking Games suggests and change the AI start of the decal from 'repeatsound' to 'appear1' then if you still want to hear the sound, place a soundzone where the decal appears, change the AI main to 'soundloopinzone' and select desired sound in 'sound' field.

Then you will only hear the sound when you are near the decal.

Make sure it's a soundzone though not a triggerzone.

I sort of thought about that (only I was thinking of a trigger zone, don't know why a sound zone didn't come to mind) but the catch is that there is a door to a stairwell that leads down stairs. It should be heard in there.

However, maybe I will put in a door on the lower level. It might even look better.

Thanks,
