So I was looking through Newcomer's corner, and someone says they dont know how to use types - even though I wrote a tutorial on them. It has just gone down through the board over time I dont want to feel like I am putting all this effort into the community for nothing, really. I think there should be a sticky thread (or maybe one of them with the star) where tutorials should be put.

Yes, I know about things like tutorial city and stuff, but none of my tutorials have been put on it, even some quite successful ones like Buttons and AI. Besides, if I am right, tutorial city has been forgotted a bit - AFAIK the featured tutorial link doesn't even work anymore.

Please take into consideration what I have said. I think it's only fair that if I do my best to make the community a better place, people should be able to use what I give.

Thanks

Agreed... Although, who reads stickies anyway?

I think there should be a URL where tutorial links are stored and kept up to date with people keeping an eye out and sending them to the admin of that site and the site would be well known.

I'd offer my website as I've already started adding links to external tutorials and my own...unfortunately, it seems the server is down, this was what I feared as I had started building a new site, but the server went down too soon, so if I were to offer, give me a little bit of time, I might be able to sort something out.

If any one wants to send me tutorial links with information, I can kick it up...I know there is a tutorial site up, but I think it's DBP only and well no doubt people have more than DBP programming tutorials.

Also, drop me an email at seppuku05@gmail.com to give me any tutorials found on this site so they don't sink to the unknown.

And my current website URL is:

http://seppuku-arts.66ghz.com/seppuku05/

The /seppuku05/ will eventually be removed, but when I can access my FTP program at home (in December most likely) as I don't even want to try FTP with my laptop at uni, it would probably be suicide (yes it's that bad, it wouldn't be if I didn't need internet security )

Currently I've got 4 tutorials sitting on there, 2 are mine and 2 are ones from here.

@Zotoaster,
If you want to create a new thread to replace the existing sticky then just do so. One of us mods will get it stickied for you and keep it clean if necessary.

In fact, for various reasons, it's actually better for us if a non-mod does start the thread.

I've started the thread in newcomers corner: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=115633&b=7

Anyone who has a tutorial they would like in it, please feel free to ask me to, preferably in the thread itself.

Thanks Ian
