Maybe you should learn to:

a) Read stickies
b) Look in the program files folder of DBP
c) Search for tuts

When you recommend " search ",
Please show "keyword" by all means.
And please confirm that it does hit.

In this case "Tutorial".

Just dosn't work for me. How about "New to DBPro. How do I start?"
Or you could just do what they said and forget posting.

PS: Just so you don't start ranting about how we are cold hearted evil people imagine somone coming up and asking "cant read how to do" and them expecting you to teach them the secrets of the universe.

A really good book, "Beginners Guide To Darkbasic Programming" it not only covers the DB basics but also general programming technique and structure aswell.

DB PROgramer -

It’s GRAMMAR, not GRAMMER.

It’s DOESN’T, not DOSN’T.

It’s SOMEONE, not SOMONE.

I’m sorry, what were you saying about Max Mods needing to learn something?

- Jane

Also, there are two Ms in “programmer”.

People who live glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Why is DB PROgramer(sic) criticizing Max Mods' grammar, when he literally can't even spell the word?

I hope that chap posts again, with a specific question, theres some really kind and helpfull people on here that have given me good advice.

Confession time for me. Being over 30 and away from programming for many years, I returned to the world about 3 years ago with Borland Delphi. Very good language and I made some usefull utils (for myself) and all was well. Then I saw DBpro, and to be honest with my reasonable pascal skill and looking at some excellent software written with DB I thought, yes this is gonna be easy.

What a shock! Dont get me wrong I think DB is excellent, I have registered and bought a rather expensive pack from here, but I think DB is sold to people as being a very easy language, and while for those that are at least competant in structured programming it is not too difficult to start getting into, for someone coming from no programming background it is a little overwhelming.

I think that is why there are alot of "please help me to code" questions, as they expect DB to be easy and think that the answer can be resolved in a couple of lines.

No, I think that only a few other websites will have DB tutorials, those tutorials will be mediocre at best, and the best place to get tutorials form would be the official website forums.
