My family's buying a new computer and I need some advice on it...

I've customized an HP desktop with these specs:

Windows Vista
Intel Core 2 Duo, 3.0 GHZ
2GB DDR2-667MHz RAM
640MB NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS
400GB HDD

Now I know that it's a good computer. But I want to know how good. Assuming I'll be running at about 1280x1024 with no anti-aliasing, how well will it run:

1. Oblivion
2. Bioshock
3. Half-Life 2
4. Doom 3
5. Quake 4

Of course I'll be playing others, but I'm curious to see how it will run those.

I'm sorry if this seems to be a stupid question; I just wanna make sure I get a great computer.

How good? Its amazing! It will run everything you want and more, 3.0 GHz Core2duo with a 8800 is bound to be good.

That system will be amazing! You should get more than 12x10 res and no anti-aliasing with that system. You should prabably consider getting the 320mb graphics and maybe use the money for 800mhz ram, or just pocket it. The 640mb is only really useful at ultra high resolutions, which means a high priced monitor. And when not playing at high resolutions the 320mb is actually slightly better than the 640mb because of gddr3 latencies.

It okay, the memory seems a bit slow for such an uber spec machine though

Thanks guys! I bought it a half hour ago lol so I guess there's nothing I can do about it now. It was $1600 US. Not sure if that was a good deal or not, but it doesn't matter now, so im happy.

It's pretty 1337. 3GB wouldn't hurt but never the less make sure you get at least a 19" LCD Monitor with it!

Of course! Right now I'm stuck with our old one, but I'll run out to Bestbuy this week and get a new one. It's expected to ship by the 12th, so I've got a little more than a week to wait. HP didn't offer an option for PSU so I'm hoping it'll supply enough power for the system.
