Avoid their forums at all costs! I've never seen such a level of immaturity from so many adults before. I asked a simple question about why profiles are showing as private even though the person is on my list. 2 Pages of comments later, I finally get somewhat of an answer. First response said to delete Tom and readd him as a friend. Sound stupid? I thought so. So I said in what possible way does that have anything to do with the problem? Rather than give an explanation, this 40-something year old goes right to name calling then flames every post I make to help other people. Then another old guy (sorry for you 30+ folks) jumps in on her defense.

The best answer I've received so far was that yes, readding Tom's profile fixes the problem but nobody has any idea why it works.

Don't use it

...

Anyway, in response to those people, I can see why they're flaming.
I mean; If being Emo makes you happy, then you're doing something wrong!

Haha.

I'm not sure what you mean, but I sure hope you didn't just call me emo. My gf at the time was the one who got me into it, I avoided myspace for as long as possible. Now, friends are like pokemon, gotta collect 'em all!

I've had two myspace profiles now, each time I get one is cause a girlfriend has basically told me to. I've yet to spend more than 2 days in total on the damn thing.

Something about the site just makes me wanna run for the hills.
Had my Live Space site for almost 4years now mind, and although I keep deleting blogs and rearranging it a lot; still uses it every month or so.. despite no one really checking it.

Not sure why but, it's just a nice place to vent or show things off online in relative peace.

Really, the answer is to just steer clear of sites like this altogether.

Haha, no, I was talking about them. They're angry (and flame) because they're upset. They wouldn't be true Emo's on MySpace if they were happy (and helping), would they?

At any rate, the closest I've come to MySpace is I managed to convince a committee that the Official website I made for them (villagefair.net.au) was enough and they didn't need a MySpace site as well, no matter how much they thought it would help

I have a myspace, my sister made it for me, I have been on it a few times, once to make my background a picture of gandalf and a couple of years ago I used it as a means to pull a bird.

Pull a bird where? You mean you attached a piece of string to a bird and pulled it behind you on a bicycle? That's rather cruel.

aye, that way when you get bored of them you can delete them, saves on having to make a good breakup story.

The only one I use that's even close to this is MSN Spaces, I've never had any problems there...

So many people say, "get myspace" constantly. When there's nothing really to like about it. You get the behaviour mentioned above That and people I know, who do use it, say it's slower than trying to use the internet by morse code.

haha, it's true.
plus why does everyone *have* to have such crappy backgrounds with music you can't turn off. The comment system you have to be psychic to figure out who was talking last, etc.

Used to check it for my lass while she was at work for talking to people she couldn't remember their numbers to; gotta say it certainly did take away my will to live each time I used it.

It's like a collection of the worst parts of early internet wrapped into a neat little package using php. Never understood what makes it so popular.

I mean it's like YouTube, don't get me wrong there are some aspects of that site I like; but 90% of it are just people using it to get themselves on camera across the world.
Hell did anyone see that "Playstation 3 Rocks" where it was literally half video replies and half comment replies.

That was one of the more amusing uses I've seen for it, but tbh it's that sort of crap that really needs web-filtering. Been told that the internet is about giving the power to the people, providing a global way to communicate.

All it's done is re-justify my believe that most of the world just isn't ready for local communication let alone global.

Indeed, myspace stands for everything the internet should have been rid off long ago. Remember the days of terribly designed web pages laced with blink text, marquees, and ads because they were all hosted on free sites like geocities? Well, think of myspace as being the next generation of bad web design. And even worse, millions of people use it!

The forum dwellers then made fun of me because my profile was set to private and I didn't have my real age posted. Sorry, but my life isn't anyone's business but who I want to share it with. I'm just not emo enough to want to share pics of every aspect of my life with a world of a few million strangers.

I wonder how much it would cost to buy the myspace domain and redirect it to a site that tells you what you did wrong.

I much prefer Facebook, as the people are more civil, and people who add you are almost always your real friends. MySpace is like a popularity contest, and Facebook is for adults to help keep in touch with all their friends. Also, you can't just add all this crap and flashing themes, songs, etc. on your page. Thank goodness for that

I have a MySpace but only for stupid reasons, like once in awhile I post a totally ridiculous blog about random things, with tons of colors, caps, smileys, you name it. Otherwise I just check it like once a month when I'm bored. There's no reason to have one. It's just pointless. I haven't found a use for it yet really.
