sorry but i dont understand this, i took LBFN advice to make a paddle game so i thought id run through the instructions again. not much of a post but i print it into editer then execute, and its just the flashing screen. could someone please tell me what to do on this tourtial?

its called a tutorial
If you are just pasting other peoples work into the editor, when things go wrong you wont know how to solve the problems.
The tutorial should tell you what to do or it is a bad one.

dark basic rules
First of all, it is good that you want to get the basics down, so you're headed in the right direction. I assume you are working on TDK's tutorial #3, but regardless, tutorials are meant for you to learn the subject that they discuss. They are not intended to be a quick fix, but for instruction.

The idea of tutorials is not that you will simply paste code into your editor, run it and see what someone else has done. The idea is that you will enter in what is needed as you absorb the content. i.e., you learn through experiencing it yourself.

I would suggest that if you are not using one of TDK's tutorials, that you switch to one of his. He is a maiven of DBC and his tutorials are the best IMO.
