does anyone know whether Dark Basic Pro X10 will be able to deal with multiple cores for both running the compiled games and the compiling itself?

i think i will as it's on the agenda for the TGC Convension this month, down as Multi-Core Systems, Threading and Performance

I don't think the compiling process itself can reliably be split into multiple threads, but if it could be done then that would be really cool.

I watched my DBP DX9 game split itself over 2 cores without threading and I thought it must be easy to impliment. Like the the Lost Planet game just set a value for how many cores to eat up?

At present it runs something like this on a Core 2 Duo...

Core 1 100% use
Core 2 0% use

And slowly it drifted onto the other core like this

Core 1 75% use
Core 2 25% use

Total CPU usage was still 50% but wierdly it was running on two cores.

Were you using any add-ons with that game? The main thread (or any other thread) can't split itself between cores.

I don't think I was using anything threaded it was just that simple performance test I made that fills the screen with animated soldiers until the CPU/GPU runs out of umph.
