Just finished it, and I can honestly say it is one of the best games I\'ve ever completed (mind you, I haven\'t completed many games ). The levels were the most unique I\'ve ever seen in a game. The music was amazing. The graphics were wonderful. I can\'t remember the last time I became so involved with the story of a game.

So what do you guys think of it?

I liked the story and the concept, the gameplay could have been a bit more varied and less restricting, in my opinion.

@Oolite:

I would've liked a couple more weapons. One thing that I really disliked about it all was the fact that the game ends after the final boss.

I played it at a friends place, he was dissapointed, i was somewhat aswell. We were expecting something up to the quality of System Shock 2, but Bioshock didn't quite get there. Still a good game though albeit the "hacking" part annoyed me greatly. More like plumbing.

@Oolite:

Haha, well I probably shoulda put that differently. I wish it was more free-roamish after you beat the boss. I don't like games that don't allow you to continue once you've beaten it.

It was too short. And I found it really funny when you save the little sisters ending... Spoiler...

You can explore Rapture before you fight the end boss. And only boss. And no one can attack you as your a "Big Daddy". You go to those submarine thingys.

Why the hell (if there wasn't a swear filter i'd use a much stronger string of words) can't you people do a quick search for previous threads on topics.

Cause this forum doesn't have a culling feature, all of this stupid new threads are slowly killing the performance of a forum that quite frankly should be a damn sight quicker.

Not to mention fill the forum with the same crap, over and over and over and over again.

Raven, I just searched up 'Bioshock'. I got two results about demos and my thread.

So where, Raven, are all of these previous threads you're mentioning? I only saw one that was actually about the game and not a demo.

The main character wasn't all that bright either...

I was quite disappointed. I didn't find it worthy the 'Shock' title, the story was a tad short and honestly, the ending felt as if the writer suddenly hit writers block and googled for 'cliché endings'. I think it was intended as a nice throw at Deus Ex, but they didn't come anywhere close.

Nevertheless, a pearl in the genre. Absolutely fun game. Just not what I hoped it would be.

Don't buy the PC version, its the biggest load of rubbish ever. It is totally unplayable, it includes crashes every 1min and the random blue screen of death. Hugely dissapointed

Tell me your secret then, cause so far I cant loot corpses, hack, load a game, goto another level or even die without the thing crashing to oblivion. The only way so far to fix some of the problems is to turn off the shaders, which I don't really want to do.

You aren't trying to run it on a MS-DOS computer, are you?

@Raven - Chill.

I played the Bioshock demo on the 360 last night and was amazed at the graphics. I absolutely love scripted single-player FPS', and I'd like to see more of the full game. The music was amazing, too

It's getting frustrating now, how much crap is constantly posted.
I mean wouldn't be annoying if it was all new, but look at the new "post your pic" thread. What's wrong with the old one apart from the fact it isn't on the first page?

I was honestly unimpressed by the game overall, it was just too easy with the rpg features practically stripped out. Just doesn't warrent so many threads with people glowing about how awesome it is when honestly it isn't.

You want the best game from this series, find a copy of System Shock 2. Bioshock just doesn't live up to it past graphics which on the PC.. it required a powerhouse and was fairly unstable despite updates nearly everytime you run it. On the 360, it was alright as a distraction but the storyline just wasn't gripping (or there enough) to keep the interest going.. and their concept of puzzles got me wondering if they stoped bothering a good decade ago.

Bioshock is alright.. I'm not a huge FPS fan, so i didn't buy it.

Offtopic/
Raven I don't think I mentioned, but I saw the models you showed and I think are pretty nice. Sorry if I doubted you.

You're entitled to an opinion. But your opinion was wrong. I liked SS1 more, and Bioshock, although a disappointment overall is one of the best FPS'es around. I've had more than enough of that WWII, Vietnam or Post-Apocaliptic settings.

Because it was ~6 months ago when we last posted in that thread. Obviously if a thread was posted within the last few weeks I would just lock it, but if we just keep reusing old threads they'd all be over 100 pages in length

I just started it and it is amazing, the amount of work put into the mood and environment just makes it a masterpiece.

A bunch of friends bought it for the 360, and I was so impressed that I got it for my comp. You see, I thought I met all the specs.

But woe me! I only support up to pixel shader 2, and it requires 3. There was someone who made it run with ps2, but he still had so many problems with it I didn't bother. I had also just uninstalled it, and 8 gigs takes a loooong time to install. Even so, I probably would have had to disable most of the shaders and such. I'll be getting a new comp over the summer though, so I decided to keep it until then. I've heard the ending was disappointing from everyone, but also the the game was excellent until then.

The ending is disappointing. The game itself was kind of disappointing to me to. I had hoped for a dark, realistic story. Instead we got a (convincing) story about Plasmids, Adam and Eve. I knew this when I started the game, but it kept feeling a bit unreal to me. This doesn't take away that Bioshock is one of the better games released last few months - something to play for Halo-haters.
