===================================================================

STORY

An old, large house. Vacant. Property of a rich family clan. There are rumours that the clan hired scientists and workers several years ago who had used the building as secret factory and scientific laboratory before they left it over night. What did they work on? On some...project. What is known about the project? Nothing except for some letters mentioning a "Project CP".

What is known about the old house? Not much. What can be found there? Artefacts? Archaeological sensations? New scientific theories? Gold? Precious data? Breath-taking new technologies?

Nobody knows. Knowledge is powerful. Knowledge is dangerous.
The government wants to reveal the secret of the old house. But so do agents, scientists, underground bosses.

Something is hidden behind the silent walls. They want to know...no matter what it takes.
"The one who really wants to know has to face death."

MAP

The map is huge. The game basically has three layers. Ground floor, first floor and a cellar. The house consists of factory-like facilities, study rooms, corridors, laboratories, hideouts and more.

CHARACTERS

Up to eight players, from four groups. Possible game modes: deathmatch, team matches group vs. group and side vs. side.

1. Scientists: male scientist, female scientist. They represent the labs located in the old house. There's an archaeology lab, a construction lab, chemicals...and...they also seem to work on a new weapon, a new robot. But these are only rumours.

2. The Government: represented by two U.E.T.s, with the ids XR-2315 and AW-6701. U.E.T. stands for Universal Elite Troop(er).

3. Gangsters: an underground-boss and a gangster try to get their dirty hands on this unknown project.

4. Special Agents: special agents PU-1 and PU-2 represent another country's government. They battle against the U.E.T.s.

These are the four groups. In a side vs. side team battle it's scientists and U.E.T.s fight vs. gangsters and special agents.

GAME MODES

Project : CP Unknown was planned to have a special mission mode. Unfortunately, I had to cancel it after hard work due to the bugs and limits of the current version of FPS Creator.

Therefore, Project : CP Unknown comes with the standard frag mode.

In which respect, Viking? I have an old computer and it runs well. With a launcher you can also decrease the graphics quality.
Or what do you mean?

OK! Just wanted to know because sometimes big levels could be very slow and with low fps.
Thats great if it works.
The level looks good but could use some lights.

I have yet to implement lights. No, it runs well, even on my computer. I avoided large rooms and long corridors. I added many doors.

Updated the first post.

I'm proud that I will include a special "capture the flag" mode. As there is no such option in FPSC by default I made my own. The "flag" (chemicals) is locked behind several remote doors. You have to reach different switches on the map, activate them, unlock the doors and get the chemicals.

I tested it, it works.
If you activate switch 1 and open door 1 this door will still be locked for other players. Each player has to activate each switch on its own. In team play one can activate switches while his teammates ... what's the English term? In German it's "Feuerschutz geben"...they support him, shoot enemies, watch out that he can safely get from one switch to another.

When a player is killed he respawns and it is automatically safed which swiches have already been activated. So he does not need to start from scratch.

The only problem so far is that the "play again"-function does not work properly. In my LAN (girlfriend and myself) the computers didn't freeze but at the start of a new game all activated switches are still active. Maybe I will find a solution for that.

Interesting... Perhaps you could create red and blue skins, so you know who to shoot.

I can't change the skins. Maybe I could but it would take time. Moreover, it's more exciting that way. You have to look whom you shoot.

Just working on custom weapons. Not skins but damage, reload quantity etc.

Why won't it work? It works on my girlfriend's PC with a PIV 2.1ghz, 510 MB RAM, 128 MB Geforce graphics.

The map is big but it consists of many little rooms. There are no real big ones. It takes a while to load though. I had to include several floors and walls that are not visible in the game...on top and under vent duct corridors for example, to get rid of lag. There are some parts that require a structure under it or they will lag otherwise.

The arena is almost done. Only lighting is still missing. I had a version with lighting but I probably overused it because there was much lag. That's why I have to redo it.

Take a look at the new screenshots.

Apart from lighting I still have to create loading backgrounds. Stay tuned.

I release a beta version without lighting. Check it out and report any bugs and mistakes. Thread:

I quickly created some music that fits the game well in my opinion. I hope you understand the speech synth.
"Project : CP Unknown...knowledge is dangerous...we want to know".

EDIT New music done. Will post it later on.

And here´s the custom game music I wrote:

Comments welcome!

PS You may NOT use this song for own projects / games. Don´t redistribute it either.

PPS I had to cancel my mission mode. It is just not possible to get it to work properly with the limitations of the current version of FPS Creator.

I don't want you to get lost so here are the maps.
I used a special code consisting of two letters and a number.

U = up to
D = down to
G = ground floor
F = first floor
B = basement

From UF1 you go UP to FIRST floor #1. This connection is marked DG1 on the layer above as you can go DOWN to GROUND floor 1.

Another connection would be DB5 and UF5 for example. DOWN to BASEMENT #5 and UP to FIRST floor #5.

GROUND FLOOR

FIRST FLOOR

BASEMENT

I'd really like to test my game with some players. Who is as nice as to host a game?

I will try to host in 1-2 hours when my girlfriend comes to bed and I can plug out our router.
