Not particularly. But, If I read it correctly, it's aimed at girls So I fail on their target audience...

Nothing actually stops me from trying, but I think I'll stick to my other games.

Nancy Drew? Is that some Tamagotchi-ish game where you have to take care of a little pirate by letting him play with Dumbow and Cool pluches?

Nope never played them...however...

I think I found another nickname to call someone, I mean I've wound up the rabi enough, so I think Nancy Drew G is next (Or Nancy Drew Cameron, but I can't as he's not victim worthy material and well...he's the creator of Milk Paton so that makes him the Godfather - therefore untouchable...)

I know this will all backfire, like it did last time in the real world...

Also, I never got into the Nancy Drew books, I read a bit of one and thought 'nah!' and kept to my Paul Jennings as a kid. Now I'm into much better novels.

I'm sorry tha_rami, it's gone

I played one (Treasure in the Royal Tower). It was my sister's game, gave it a go, and actually found it to be challenging. So it's not a bad game, actually. That point aside, I don't have much fun with point and click adventures anymore... much less one with Nancy talking to me.

If you want quality point and clicks, you should play Freddi Fish, Putt-Putt, Fatty bear... all good kiddie games.

I think you should use Nancy Drew G for sure.

Nancy Drew is like the Hardy Boys books only for girls (or something like that). I probably wouldn't touch those games with a 10 foot pole much less post about them at a forum

Wow, that's a lot of books and a lot of games I guess once you've really nailed something that works for girls you really sell well (like with The Sims).

What about the classics? Monkey Island 1, 2 and 3, Sam and Max, Loom (dare I say it) Maniac Mansion, Day of the Tentacle, Hook, and all of the old SCUMM games?

Haven't played any of those... mostly cause I stopped with point and click when I was about 9, so i never went beyond the 5-10 year old range.

until the recent movie, had no idea what the hell it even was.
from what i can tell it's for youngsters, kinda like a girly scooby doo. what's seriously put me off has been that new movie that disney channel keeps showing... just looks like a chick flick, and not like the boring bridges of maddison county but high school musical, chringe-worthiness.

so definately no even close to my top-10 most wanted right now, although i keep hearing lots of good things about that hannah montana game...suppose to be like rock band for the ds.

Y'know, I never thought about that. I get called Drew Barrymore at school sometimes, usually by an exteacher from elementary when I did go to elementary school, but that's some decent creativity. Dang, we should make a thread about nicknames that we randomly give to people on these forums... hmmmmm...

They made a Nancy Drew film? And a game? I never read the books (because I'm not a girl) but still, from what I've heard, they were old-fashioned clean family fun, and I appreciated knowing there were things like that still in the world uncorrupted by modernity. Unfortunately not. Damn you Hollywood.

Darn right! There's nothing wrong with guys reading/playing girl's games... seems to be a double standard since girls have no problem playing "guy" games. Not saying I love Nancy Drew, but it wasn't a bad game....

Indeed...I think I'll refer to the World of Warcraft Episode of South Park, whilst all the guys played a girly pansy game called World of Warcraft, Butters decided he was embarrassed by girls' games, so he played the Hello Kitty game instead...But the reality was, it doesn't matter if you're a guy and like world of warcraft...I mean we all like something girly at some stage in our lives...I mean nothing is as girly as World of Warcraft...I mean only girls would play as big muscluar hunks, same reason why guys like Lara Croft...

I think, I pushed the bottle there...oh well...I know I'm getting spam mail tonight....

Actually thats a common misconception, as it turns out the people who make that statement are actually uncomfortable with they're own sexuality! What a world.

That's not as bad as you think you said.

@ Cool Guy Jordan: Why would you do that?

Quote: "it turns out the people who make that statement are actually uncomfortable with they're(sic) own sexuality"

surely that would make you uncomfortable with yours? (and don't try and put that back on me, I'm merely pointing out a hypocrisy not agreeing with the position in general)

Anyway to preserve the patience of those of us actually in our teens or older, lets stop this discussion.

I've never played them, but I've heard good things, not great things, but not bad. I'm a huge fan of point and click adventures thanks to fullyramblomatic.com.

And this review:

NOTICE: NOT SAFE FOR WORK, SCHOOL, CHILDREN, AND PUPPIES:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=c8WLN-G56Ic

This review turned me off to the idea of playing this series of games, I could tell it would be frustrating I'd rather stick to indie games in this field, far more care would be placed into the gameplay, which is the whole point of a point and click game

And who cares if Nancy Drew is for girls or not (actually I don't know, never read the books), if it's a fun game it's a fun game.

Never read the books but personally love the games and played almost all of them except the two newest ones i think. They are very much targeted to girls and even involves grade school romance with some of the better looking guys.

I dont care... They are awesome games, extremely difficult to beat and definitaly excercise those puzzle solving skils. I dont care what the target audiance i guess they hit me in the cross fire
