I've got 2 HDs, one with Vista (master) and one with XP (slave) I tried to boot from the XP one but didn't work, any idea on how to do it? or should i reformat the main drive and install XP on then install Vista on the slave?

Hmm... What I did was install XP to partition "D" of my computer, which ended up changing partition "D" to partition "I", from which I reinstalled because the "I" drive is a stupid name, which made it partition "C". Afterwords I installed Vista to the "J" drive, which is the main partition. So, XP to slave, then Vista to master. I get a choice each time I start up my computer if I want to run an "older version of windows" or Vista. (Of course I choose Vista everytime. ^_^)

Cheers,

I've heard of DBP not working and online gaming doesn't work from this forum and from friends.

And online game works too, as I told you I´m playing quake 3 arena and I have played it online many times, also Half life source deathmatch.

Okay, I guess I stand corrected. It's just most people I associate with tell me they have gaming problems on Vista.

Maybe certain games would not work, I'm not 100% sure, but on-line gaming it self works, I guess it may depends on the games if they compatibility with vista.

well, if you think quake 3 its a "new" game, then it is, but the first time I installed it was when Windows ME was just released in a Pentium III 500 Mhz with a Nvidia Riva TNT 2 with 32mg

i did the same thing with Vista master and XP slave. i can't remember what program i used. but to make it so that you can choose which OS to boot from each time your pc boots up, get a program that edits your boot settings. run it in vista, add xp to the list, select the amount of time you want it to let you choose which to boot up to(or it will auto-boot to the master).

its just the gist of what i did. i hope i helped. if you get stuck and really need the name of the program, i'll try and find it.

I don't recall having to use a program... From what I remember, Vista does all the work upon install... Just don't install Vista then XP, do XP first.

well, thats the thing, if he installed Vista first(like i did) then you can just download the nifty program so that you can edit your boot settings without having to reinstall anything. it saved me a lot of time.

When I installed Vista first, then XP, it screwed over my vista install, so I was unable to do anything with Vista.
