Hello all. I am new to FPSC (always late to the party). Cutting to the chase, I want to make a game where a player has to acquire an entity somewhere in a map and then physically take it (using right click... not like a key) to the Win Zone to advance. I have some ideas that may work but are complicated and probably unreliable. I figured out how to have a specific entity open a door (which the Win Zone would be behind), but I may not want a door at the end of EVERY level.

If any of you more experienced FPSC'ers out there have an easy way to do this, I would be most appreciative! I'm sure it's right under my nose.

Thanks again,
Jeff H in AZ

I think you can set your item as objective 1 and your winzone as objective 2 and it will work as you described.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I was hoping it would be something as simple as that, but it appears an entity has to be either taken into inventory (like a key) or destroyed for it fulfill the objective. Since I don't want to do either with my entity, the objective is not fulfilled.

I played around with having an objective entity destroyed by a script out of site when the entity I want to keep is carried into a trigger zone right before the end... but apparently destroying an item with a script doesn't fulfill the objective for some reason. You'd think it wouldn't matter.

This may be more complicated than I thought. A larger question would be... can a win zone be enabled or disabled by an entity?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeff H

Well... I suppose you could use some commands to detect if an entity is within zone (That'll be within the item's code, not the zone's code), perhaps fooling around with that condition may prove useful?

Not sure, I haven't tried this and I'm away from my editor right now, otherwise I'd give it a shot for you.

I didn't think about putting the entitywithinzone code in the entity itself. I assumed it would go in the zone like the plrinzone code. I will try putting in entity.

Thanks,

Well, I tried many different things, but never did figure this one out. I don't think it's possible to trigger a win zone by placing an entity in it. I'm still open to any ideas.
