I know if you add lights to the map, you will get some dark places, is there a script that can make a room PITCH BLACK until a light is there? Or is the answer the good ol' "Source Code Change"

So a Shepard said to his flock; "Thou shalt be confuseth!" and so they were.

ambient light...

open your setuplevel.FPI

scroll down a little (should be line 8 )untill you see something like this:

Change the ambiance levels as you see fit...the first is the amount, the last 3 are the colors.

The easiest way is to do it like so:

1. Open file.
2. Choose Build game.
3. Go to level settings.
4. Click on the global settings box
5. Change ambient light to 0. Make sure you hit "return" after typing in your value, or it wont work.

That's all folks!

Hope this helped,
JM

Please take note that although these methods (and others, using trigger zones) do work, your lights won't be as "effective" in lighting up the room as the normally do. You'll need to increase your light range if you're gonna tone down the ambient lighting.
