First off i would like to say that it was one AWESOME concert, (twas my first as well), the intro was doubly awesome (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFzYRQ-0Oz0, the sound quality doesnt do it justice though). altough this is the melbourne one it was the same everywhere and i saw it in brisbane.

and it was good of chester to keep performing even after breaking his arm in melbourne.

anybody else here in aus go and see them?

YES ME! I was right up front, with some drunk and a guy singing really badly and loudly.

Poor Chester man, did you see the bright orange cast?

All in all, it wasn't that great, I mean come on, it started at 9 and went until 11:30 or something like that? Not long enough, and it started way too early. I want to go to a Marilyn Manson concert, and be in the mosh.

Marilyn Manson mosh? Dude you'll get a much better pit for something heavy. Don't go to a slipknot gig though... that's a bit hardcore as far as I'm concerned, I swear people have died in their pits, even the band have loads of injuries from playing live and the pits look a bit big: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnzRM6M57IU It's bloody hard to get out of them once you get smacked around the head so much that you can't stand up right any more. Good fun though. Especially a good wall of death.

I went to see these, about 5 years ago, as far as i can remember it was a terrible concert. Its hard to go to gigs now without being surrounded by 14 year old emo's.

Yeah, but like you said:

a) Slipknot sucks, i've heard some of the psycho ones swing blades on rope around in the mosh - probably not true though, but it sounds about right.

b) I hate Slipknot - Marilyn Manson's music is way better.

I admire the band.

I lost the only chance that I had to meet them - serious health problem in the family. But they will visit Brasil again, I hope. Their new album sounds great and more mature, even being so experimental. I can not wait for the year when they will be the main part of their concerts. They have too much blind fanaticism surrounding their name. They will get rid of that as they become more mature.

Cheers.

Edit:

Utterly wrong. Marilyn Manson is a Paul wannabe.

Actually, "KKK" sounds like laugh in our language. We do not support Ku Klux Klan. I would kill KKK if it was a man. Cheers.

Linkin Park is my fav band. Honestly, I want to see them at Rock am Ring or something soon . I love all of their songs (except High Voltage and it's Rean).

Slipknot have their moments. So does Manson, although noticeably fewer. To be honest, I saw The Bled the other week, and I've seen Sikth live, so I'm not that bothered about who else I see 'cos I've seen the two best bands around

On the other hand, it'd be cool to see The Dillinger Escape Plan or Psyopus. Or maybe Into The Moat.

Would quite like to see the first two live again, and probably Killswitch as they put on a great live show (Adam is a nutter) or Enter Shikari (love the strobe lights/mosh pit combination and Rob is probably even more of a nutter than KsE's Adam, plus he was cool enough to come out and chat to us by the merch table afterwards)

I like slip knot. And I also like Greenday. I seen them in Milton Keynes(spelling?). And they are better than Linkin Park live. I just hate marlyn manson's music.

i had third row seats to LP, the support band was pretty good though (chris cornell), that went from 7:30 to 9:00 and he brought out andrew from wolfmother to help him.

@Veron: yea i saw the cast, i also so a vid of him breaking his arm it was in melbourne during papercut (the 3rd song of the night), yet he kept going to the end, it looked painful too, he jumped from the platform that they had and got his foot stuck in the steps thus landing on his wrist

14 yr old emo's at concerts now eh? Remind me to bring my pissy cap when I attend a future one, I cannot stand those prissy little punks, they don't know what a bad life is, anways..rants over.

Slipknot has its moments, some of their stuff is just ridicolous..monkies on a drum sometimes.

LP, I don't know, last I heard of them they were making decent music so I'm sure I'd see them but not if there were emo's, I'd probably strangle one of them.

Manson is a freak but its all for effect, his music can be meh from time to time though.

Decent opener, thought it took too freaking long though, just blow our heads open already.

Uhh... some of them do. I've had mates who were emo's who've had probably a hell of a lot better reason for being depressed than you have. You shouldn't generalise.

And to be honest it's going to be pretty hard to go to a decent gig without emos. Just deal with it.

I shouldn't generalise and I apologize, just every one over here in the states I've met have been the stereotype, I know some people are depressed *have a friend who is* but its the sterotypical emo that makes me boil so quickly because of that.

Deal with it..yea I will, I'm there for the music after all.

sorry I know what you mean though, you're much more likely to find someone who cuts themself for attention or something who's an emo, but a lot of people who would be classified as emo also aren't depressed and wouldn't pretend to be, and some are depressed for good reason. I was going to continue but i thought I'd just edit it out in a minute if I did because it's not the sort of thing you want to be talking about on a family-friendly board so just assume there's lots more I could say on the subject.

I saw that arm breaking thing on LPTV. Chester has a lot of heart, alright. I've been hoping for a London concert, but whenever one comes along, theirs always something stopping me. I might join the LPU, but when would their be another gig in little ol' UK?

But yes, lucky you!

EDIT: A:Too many people think their emo. I can name atleast three people I know. They really aren't.
B:Manson is a freak on stage, but he's all business when he isn't. I hate him, hate the music, don't care, whatever.

Yea and I agree that TGC is just not the correct place to discuss it.

So, anyone else see someone else in concert recently?

my curse is amazing live. Their sound was so perfect like CD quality when I saw them - not muddy at all - and the entire stadium was singing along to all their songs, but especially ones like My Curse.

LPU is awesome, after the concert they were selling this pack for $45, and it had all this stuff, like a shirt, wristbands, CD, and a one-year subscription to LPU!

I've only ever heard one greenday song, that was wake me up when september ends. One of my teachers played it in an assembly and he was like 'this song is all about school'. ????

What's so bad about liking Green Day? Well, let me tell you, that ain't so bad at all. Liking it more than Linkin Park is downright herecy. You should be painted green and tossed from the highest nearby building today. It will be a Green Day for you. I'll make sure it's an American Idiot throwing you of a building on the Boulevard of Broken Dreams.
