Never tried to put new RAM into a laptop before so i'm just wondering if this RAM will fit in a laptop or if I have to buy a special size RAM for laptops.

You usually have to by laptop specific memory. They are usually like half the size of normal ram simms and look kinda funny. Hehe. It also depends on your laptop make and model. I suggest opening it up, looking at the ram thats in it, write down any info you can about it. It should say how many pins it has, a manufacturer name, etc etc. Then look it up online. Try to find Ram with similar specs as the one you are replacing. Ram can be fussy and isn't always compatible with every motherboard even if it's the right size and type. So do some research on the Ram you buy.

Find one of those online laptop memory match apps. The online Crucial page should sort you out. I assume you are in the US with newegg, and Crucial are UK based I believe (just checked and they are US too), but assuming you don't have an obscure laptop you can find out the correct memory for your laptop on their website.

Just checked and they look to still have the product finder on the main page, plus a new scanner to check your current system.

Cheers
