I was just bored and looking through youtube for good stand-up comedians, and I've exhausted looking for my favourites, like Lee Evans, Billy Connolly and Lewis Black. Is there anyone else out there like them? You know, that get you on the floor?

Cheers

Most comedians aren't as funny as they'd like to think. To me they are only good for a few chuckles. I suppose I do like Jeff Foxworthy though.

Jack Dee is great, and my new favourite, Lee Mack (I saw him live at the Apollo a few weeks ago) Marcus Brigstocke is pretty good too.

Lee Mack:

(Part 1 of 3 also on youtube)

If you're in the UK, the new series of 'Live at the apollo' i saw should be on TV soon

Eddie Izzard (He's a tranvestite, but don't let that put you off, he is extremely funny and even uses his image to the advantage of a joke, such as getting beat up in Cambridge, trying to join the army etc. He's so good, I've got every show he's recorded onto DVD up until 2006 sitting on my shelf. )
Bill Bailey (If you can pick up Part Troll, you're in for a treat)
Jimmy Carr
Jasper Carrot (I think he's classic)
Dylan Moran
Rich Hall
Jo Brand (She's kind of feminist and plays on her being fat quite a lot, but she's a good laugh)

Are all funny, I don't think Jimmy Carr is particularly funny in comparison and I've never seen any of his stand up, but he's said some pretty hilarious stuff on QI (Watch that if you're looking for something funny, especially with episodes that include, Jimmy Carr, Bill Bailey, Jo Brand, Rich Hall and such like)

@Mr Tank, he asked for GOOD comedians. That "ang lee" bit was horridly unfunny imho.

Dave Chapell did some standup once, I thought it was pretty funny. I like Carlos Mencia as well (He did standup once too). They aren't really stand up comedians though, but they do have their own shows on comedy central.

Actually, how could I forget, Henry Rollins does stand up and he's hilarious, saw him live last year, flipping good show - plus he chucks in some good morals and even some politics into what he says (and has his serious moments, but he's very much in your face 'eff you' followed by an apology - kind of guy.

I was about to recommend him, but i thought ventriloquist might not be what he was looking for, even so, Jeff is amazingly funny at times.

Quote: "Dave Chapell did some standup once"

He's done a ton of specials, at least three that I can think of, and I saw him live, he's hysterical.

Other comedians you might like:
Patton Oswald (HILARIOUS but extremely vulgar and crude)
Jack Dee (I love his audience participation in the "live at the apollo" specials on BBC)
Sarah Silverman (also crude and vulgar but funny imo)
Eddie Izzard ("how I yearn for a grapefruit!")
Ardal O'Hanlon (a ton of Irish jokes)

Frank Skinner is great live. But then all comedians are better live (as in go to the show not see on TV) if you ask me.

Personally though I used to love where we used to live as there was a comedy club within 10 minutes walk of my house. Apparently Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer did their first live performance there. Saw quite a lot of comedians there and pretty much don't remember any of their names. Best thing about that though is the most funny stuff was all about taking the mick out of people near the front and the area in general. One bloke was on for an hour and a half and only did 2 actual jokes (which panned). Apart from that the rest of his act was slagging of the area we lived and the people in the crowd. Almost died of laughter. Brilliant

Cheers
