Here's a basic destroy script I use to have dynamic lights go out when I shoot an entity such as a light fixture. Please view the attached jpg on how to set up your entities!

Ahhh! Very clever

I would make the strength of the fixture "1" so that no matter what weapon the player is using, the light will be destroyed in one shot.

I personaly think it should flicker before breaking. Thats the way they usualy do it in comercial games.
