No-But if you have the video for both the crowds then that way the crowd is bigger all together
But anyway lets not talk about youtube and Google Video!

No, lets talk about....
UPDATES

Ok then....
Done
W.I.P
Idea
Not working

remember, all the past things that are not changed here are still in the same place.

inventory
pause menu
2nd level attack system
gravity*
collision*
mouselook
left/right arrowkeys strafe instead of turn.

* ok, i'm having troubles with these: my idea for gravity was that i would position a small cube around the camera and every loop move it down by one unit. if, when it has been moved down you check for collision with the landscape - if it is detected then move the cube back up if the collision is not detected then move the camera to the height of the cube and start again. that way you would move down where there is no landscape. but, no-matter how small i make my cube, whenever i place it over the camera it detects collision. does anyone know of any better ways of doing gravity?

if it's a matrix, then why not just use the get ground height command?

I don't know what to do if it's a modelled level though...

it's a modeled level, that way i could cut out part of the side for the mine shaft to go in.
BTW, cool kid, could you change 'not begun' on your first post to 'not working' and put both collision and gravity there because both of tose have been started but are not working, anything that has not benn begun yet should go in ideas.

any more comments?
BTW: does anyone know a good way of saving data? i've got the level editor working, but i can't figure out how to get it to save the correct data. the editor works by using segments placed bu the user to build an entire mine level, so the data is x, y, z position and object num for each segment in this one file, but i don't know how many objects there are going to be in each level so i have to somehow leave it open for different amounts of objects. How would i do this?

Bit of a bump, anyone have any ideas on gravity? without it i can't really go forward with this game because the end of the level is just down the mine - without gravity you will pop up through the roof and never go down it. it's a modeled level.
thanks in advance for anyone who can help.

Looks good, reminds me of good, old King's Field II. (That's a good thing. Guess where I got my nick. )

The GUI is way big, though. Hope you'll do something about it. ^^

Make the turning faster, as well as the movement...

Gravity:

well, that's about as basic as it gets, say gravity#=(a number>#), and you've got jumping.

And then if there's object collision on the y axis have gravity#=0

What this does is make you fall at # faster every frame, just like real gravity.

Of course, you'll have to have working collision in place for this to work, which I don't know if you have yet. You might, I just don't know.

If you don't, and are using dbpro, don't use the native collision commands. For some reason it stops this gravity code from working. I recommend Sparkys Collision. If you're using dbc, then the native collision will work fine, though I still recommend Sparkys over it.

sparky's dll is great for collision.

as for saving data... one of the easiest methods is to just fill an array and use the load/save array commands. something like:

The picture Blobby 101 showed before in the thread about the GUI being smaller was on his version-I haven't got it so the video shows the old MASSIVE GUI!

This is being devoloped in Dark Basic Pro.

rather large update:

second level is now in progress

yep, that's right, we now have some gravity in the first level which has allowed me to get a sort of hotspot set up at the bottom of the mine. now, this level has NOT been made in the level editor cos i still can't get that to save . i'm working on the fighting system ATM so i'll post a screenshot maybe tomorrow or the day after.

Jeez, that link at the end of the clip didn't fit on one line?

The video doesn't really show anything what we haven't seen yet. The screenshots kinda double for things seen in the trailer.

The game overal, looks good. Rotation speed could be somewhat faster, though.

@tha_rami: ye, the rotation speed is mostly due to hypercam's frame rate. and the web adress is better than the old one, the old one wouldn't have fitted on TWO lines!
