EDIT: You know what, why don't you all teach me how to write reviews, since apparently I suck at it in your opinions. Wait, better yet, why don't you all make your own reviews. Remember, reviews are opinions after all.

How in hell could you hear a bridge crossing water?
Unless the thing grew legs and ran through, splashing, I think you really messed up that sentence.

At any rate, that is the worst review I've ever seen. You didn't actually review anything, only recounted the experience of the first 2 minutes before, I can only assume, you got majorly distracted by a pink fluffy toy hanging from your crib and accidentally pulled the plug on your PC...

Harsh words Jeku. Although I agree, this is more of log of your first time playing.

That's not Jeku, it's Jess . Anyway, I have to agree, I didn't really learn anything from reading this review. It left me thinking the same thing that Jess said, that you didn't play the game long enough to warrant writing anything about it. There's no detail about the aesthetic details, the controls and how they're good or bad... anything mechanical really. You didn't try to relate your readers to familiar titles so they have a sense of what's going on. Based solely on that review, I'd be left to assume it was a hunting game set in the dark ages. What are the features of the game, and did Cash qualify and fulfill the desired effects of those features?

About the darkness at midnight thing... last time I was outside at midnight, it was pretty dark outside. Unless the moon is out and there's no overcast, I'd say kudos to Cash for limiting the player's ability to see things at night. I'm sick of games where it's 1 am but I can see everything around me in graphic detail. That's a seriously awesome design concept imo.

@DrewG - The night darkness is a feature. If you zoom in (mousewheel) closer to the character then you can see much better. I figured that if it's dark you can see around your immediate location but you can't see far away. It looks like you're zoomed out to maximum. You'll also be able to carry a lantern in your weapon hand, I just haven't added it yet.

I haven't implemented money yet, but you can drink the beer at the pub. Just double click it. She'll refill it after you do.

It is quite flattering to me that you'd make a post about this. At the same time I have to agree that the review wasn't the most informative. Personally I'd break it down into categories, like Matt was talking about, and rate each separate one.

Well, in the next issue of Untitled you'll surely see a nice review of Geisha House coming up.

This review smelt odd and is worthy of two bowls of creamed corn out of five.

But really, what?

I know I certainly wouldn't have the patience to just be flattered by this. I'd be insulted by the very nerve of it.
