Q6600 Processor / E6850 Processor

I'm really not sure what to get..

My system meets all the recommended requirements, except for my current processor, which doesn't even meet the minimum requirements for Vista.

So, I have a few questions...
1-Will Crisis support Quad Core processors?
2-(If it does) What would be a better for performance, a Quad Core 2.40GHz, or a Dual Core 3.0GHz?
3-(Not CPU related) I have an eVGA 8800gts 640mb, how much of a performance boost would I see if I upgraded to a GT or GTX?

Thanks!

1. Yes, it takes advantage of Quad Core power.
2. I'd say the Quad, but not sure.

1. No Idea.
2.The Q6600 (quad core) would run better, but I have a Core 2 Duo E6850 @3.0 Ghz and it runs great on the Crysis Sp Demo.
3. Not sure (I have the 8800 Ultra) but I'd say maybe 10/20 fps boost.

Take the quad core over the c2d for crysis. As for the gfx card, a gt is not as good as a gts. The gtx is in the 550-600 dollar range, would be quite a bit better, but frankly, a gts is nothing to laugh at either

Actually the 8800 GT is quite a bit better than the GTS in many areas however I can run on Very High(with the patch) with AA and still have it playable at 1280x1024 on my GTS using XP.

all the GT cards I see are far cheaper than the GTS versions.

So by logic vintage cars should be much faster than many modern day sports cars?

I assumed that GTS is a higher end designation. I'm only looking at evga cards, I don't know if there's a different designation for other cards.

I would say your analogy is pretty crappy, considering GT cards are not vintage to GTS cards
