FPSC Classic Models and Media / Blender to Direct X - Need some help!

Hi, I am making a sheep character for FPSC.

I haven't even got a head for the sheep and it looks aboslutely terrible and on top of that the file when exported as a direct x is 60,000 + KB. I think that the average for a FPSC character is 3500.

So does any one know how I can change this so that the file is the right size?
