Starwraith 3D Games has just released its hit titles Starwraith IV and Riftspace for the public in honor of the release of Arvoch Conflict and Evochron Renegades, their latest titles.
Both games have been created around 2004 and are a showcase of the power of DarkBASIC.
Starwraith IV: Reviction is a arcade military space sim with a story explained in cutscenes and mission descriptions, pretty cool graphics and multiplayer modes ranging from Dogfight to Capture the Sphere. You play as the pilot of a small squadron, which you can boss around with simple but effective commands as Attack, Scatter, Defend and Form. Your mission objectives range from retrieving escape pods to carrier assault missions. Also, a random mission generator guarantees lots of fun for space enthusiasts.
Riftspace is a freeform mercenary space sim in which the player chases a mysterious Vonari artifact, claiming to hold the secret of a planet that will give shelter to a dying race. The player is free to become a trader, pilot or mercenary as he/she wishes to. It features an extensive ship upgrade system among other fun features. Riftspace - contrary to Starwraith IV and later more extensive mercenary titles as Evochron - is singleplayer only. It does have an online ranking system to show of your made fortune.
If you like Starwraith IV, you might also want to check out the sequal and far more advanced military spacesim
Arvoch Conflict. If you enjoy playing Riftspace, even more choices, options and a seamless universe including planet descends can be found in
Evochron Renegades.
Both free titles can be downloaded at
www.starwraith.com, both halfway down the website (Classics / Free SW3D Games).
