I was wondering if it was posible to have the player pick up an entity and walk around with it?

How can I add a script to an object that allows player to pick it up and set it with the "E" USE key?

So the script might be easy I dont know but the objects dont have to move when they are in your hands I just need the object to attach to the player.

As for having "E" as the use key, you'd have to go and alter the "setup.ini" file in your FPSC folder. But it doesn't seem to work all the time for test games. You can alter the keys when you Build Game, though.

I think I know what you're trying to do, but I'm not sure. Of course you can pick up and carry any dynamic object by right clicking, but the engine neither knows what you have in your hand nor cares.

If you wanted to use an object in the same way that a key is used, you just have to make it a key. Of course that only works on doors. If you want to add objects together to create something which causes a response or action, then that item has to be recognized.

I guess the best way to do that would be with the "activate" action and "activated" condition, where the object you pick up activates and the object you are joining it with checks the activation state.

I'm sure plystire can elaborate.

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

LOL. Yeah, I think it's in FPI French or something. His question was very vague so I was trying to cover all the bases.

For example, you pick up a small motor. The pickup script includes the action activate=2. You approach a machine and the condition plrdistwithin checks for proximity and the condition activated=2 checks to see if you picked up the motor. If so, the machine starts.

I hope that makes sense. LOL

When I read the question, I thought that might have been what he was going for since the ability to pick up and carry an item is pretty much know and self explanatory.

Best

Okay, that made more sense to me that time, lol.

Yeah, and I don't think I could elaborate much more on what you said, since it does kind of speak for itself. I think you did a good job explaining it the second time around.
