I have my first two enemies that are tanks that shoot rockets at you. In the video they are stronger than usually so don't freak out. They don't animate but I don't think it's really neccacery. I am not going to release it just yet for two reasons:

1. I want to see what you guys think.
2. I think I'm going to price it at $5.00

Ive been wanting a pack with tanks and stuff, so Id like to see one, would be nice with a bunch of different tanks, perhaps some flying gunships as well.

I was going to make it so the top rotates but I thought it would look wierd because he would shoot you while the cannons not even looking at you. But I'll do it anyway.

Edit: sorry doesn't work. They dont have heads. Anyway. I got two new Ideas.

1. A Transparent gas coming from it's back, fuel.

2. When it dies it'll scorch up and whatever.

Also, guys could you give me some feedback. I want to know what you think of it.And tell me if you would actually pay for it.

Just so all of you know yes they do follow waypoints.

Well anyway I just wanted to know how can you make decal appear at a certian area.

That would look bad, make it so the turret can move and shhot from the turret, like a real tank does.

Fallen One If you make th turret move it would move randomly. It can't look at the player so it would only attack you if it randomly turned it's head towards you.

You could make the turret the head limb and place the firespot on the barrel, then give it a cone angle view of about 150-160, sorted.

if you search my threads you'll see I did a shooting tank a while back, and even if you attach the turret to a limb called "head" it won't rotate with the
"rotateheadtoplr" command.

Yes Butter Fingers I realized that when I was making these. Then it hit me. I could make the main body the head and have it spin around and the turret will remain facing you. This way instead of it always only facing you something will be spinning.

I'm currently getting the models data so I could add a fire spot bone at the end of the barrel for realism and for the turret head rotate, it will actually be a body randomly rotate so something is rotating and it's not always facing it's whole body towards you.

Also I'm searching for a soundset to add to the tanks.

Yes, I have it all planned out. But for now I need to wait for an email of the tank models still in Milk Shape to do it all. I am also going to make more textures for the tanks so there would be a variety or things. An Idea that I got for a model pack would be a jet that flies by when a trigger zone is activated and it has a barrage of bombs.

To do that I would need it to follow a waypoint but the waypoint only starts when your in the trigger zone and it would have a bomb weapon it fires while it still is going in the trigger zone.

If only we knew how Butter fingers made his flamethrower weapon / slash electro guy from D13's game, you could make the jet emit smoke decals behind it as it flies by.

I know that Butters didn't do it with scripts. It was something with the rigging.

About the airstrike I now have a jet for it that I got for free on turbosquid but when it drops the bombs it will only drop one bomb no matter how fast I put the fire rate. I will be uploading a video shortly.

Also, how do you import soundsets. Like play one sound when the entity is destroyed or when it takes damage. Isn't it something like you name the file "hurt1" or something. On top of that though how do you make it play a sound that loops when you get so close to it.

Sorry to bump this but I am releasing the not-so-great versions of the Tanks. By that I mean the ones that they're bottoms don't rotate and they shoot the missles from the body. I am mainly doing this to give you the Idea what the tanks will behave like.

For commercial and non-commercial use only.

Note: The only thing I changed so far was the FPE files and a script for it, everything else is Clayster2000's.

Put the tanks in the user folder and the tank script in the scriptbankpeople folder.

Edit: Almost forgot the Tank weapon, just use the law or bazooka or even the python instead, that's all it really is except changes to the Vweap file and other small things.

Aww, you found my old Launch II script. You do know that it was meant to be a script for Bazooka-weilding characters, right? I wasn't expecting it to be a script for a tank

I can maybe workout a tank script for you. How do you like a tank that can run over the player?

That'd be nice. Make sure you add the line "rotateheadrandom=270" so the bottom of the tank would be rotating. Also, I like that idea about running over the player.

Another thing it would need is to have it so when it dies it goes to the alternate texture, then I'll just edit the normal texture and have it be a destroyed burned out texture.

You could use raotatetoplr because than the tank would be facing you. When I say rotateheadrandom=270 I mean that the bottom is the "head" so the "body" (which is really the "head") would rotate instead of a straight up tank that lines up it's whole body with you. If you need to you could just put rotateheadrandom=270 at state=0 (if it'll work that way) so all I'm asking is to make the tank rotate it's "head" for as long as it lives.

These are great but if your selling them you need to make loads of alternate textures for them and maybe some alterations.

@sps999: Oh. I had a more intelligent script planned in mind. I thought the "body" was going to be the actual "body" and the "head" was going to be the turret. It would be weird to see a tank randomly rotating it's body in the middle of a war, wouldn't it? It's fine to have the turret rotate along with the tank since FPSC can't do the "rotateheadtoplr" command. I was planning on making a tank that moves backward and forward, rotates it's whole body along with the turret, and finds the player if he is out of sight.

Well, you don't have to use 270 (such a large number to ratate) but instead you could do like, oh, 15 or 5 (if he is drinking and driving) I just didn't want it to be looking straight at you and the turret perfectly alined at you.

Hi,

I have only just registered today. I think if you made the tanks characters, it would be as MAD as it is now. Or, if you can control the tanks.

I was wondering if you will only be putting the tank enemies to pay for, or will there be more than that. Because if it only the tanks, then I would put it to buy for US$2.50 . Plus if I was you, if I could do stuff as good as you, I would make a couple of towers you can go into.

I am making a pack of military related things that are vehicles or aircraft. I could model fairly well, but these aren't my tank models, they are Clayster2000's models. I just edited and made them slightly different.

I am making two big things that'll make these tanks stand out from other models.

1. I am working on a script that involves an action that when the tank strafes, it'll rotate it's body (or head) accordingly and keep the turret facing you.

2. I am making another thing for the tank that has a machine gun that'll run a decal, but not really shoot bullets, that would make a turret effect and it will have the main cannon firing at you. (Explained to me in one of my other posts by Butter Fingers)

I don't know if that is possible, I've seen some "vehicles" and you don't actually go in them, you just hop on top.
