Always read about what you are going to do. Most people where I live are very unsure where the keyboard, mouse, ect. go.

Wow...I've done some stupid things with my computer in the past(which is why it's currently dead, no more working with hardware at 3AM for me ) but I could never imagine doing anything like that o.O

I hope that it was a joke, and if it isn't he and his friend should be banned from ever touching computers again o.O

i don't know if its just me (nether can i tell the model of this) but the thing looks like it fits into a PCI slot. this certainly doesn't look like AGP (too long and too close to the back of the case)

if this is a pci express, it would be extremely long and won't even into most cases (i did a visual estimate and compared the card and size to my own pc)

and my pci express card has only 1 notch on the "thing at the bottom with shiny lines" this thing appears to have 3 of them, it seems like it would fit into one of those extended pci slots, but those are as far as i know used for motherboard extensions (for more pci slots)

so correct me if i am wrong, but for some reason' it just doesn't look like pciE to me

dont hate people who rip you off,cheat and get away with it, learn from them

That's not what you do when you make a mistake on a Internet forum. You should of edited out the post and say something like <wrong thread> to avoid embarrassing yourself.

I just can't belive somebody would cut their PCI card without first cutting the moniter cable or drilling a hole in their processor because they want to screw it in place.

I'm going to put this here because you will ask for it anyway. http://web.umr.edu/~klpwdf/codez.html

Laughing out loud. Nothing beats the 7800 story. >_<

Quote: ""i cant open my cup holder""

-_-"

These are the times when a fellow worker yells "damned digital inclusion!!". Let me list some famous examples in Brasil:

1. The girl who asked in Orkut: Where can I download a 80 gigabyte HD?

2. The boy who tried to buy a fast Internet service, but gave up when the attendant told him that he would need a computer for that: "What the hell! I wanted the X service but no one told me I would need a computer for that!! I bet this is strategy to sell computers!! Shift!!"

3. "Google Earth is not live!! Google is making fool of you. I did stand on the roof of my house for around two hours while my cousin zoomed in there, but I did not appear!"

>_<

^Haha oh dear

I have one similar experience with a fellow classmate back in the old days.

Someone complained:"The keyboard won't work! The cable is connected"
Mr person responds:"Have you checked if the mouse is plugged in? It might need all the parts for everything to work"

It was many years ago, but that's about right if my memory serves.

I do computer repairs for a living and once I had this totally insane problem. Someone's speakers wouldn't work. The PC was located one of those huge cover-the-whole-backside desks against the wall, so I sat down in the dark corner and booted up the PC. I checked if the cable was plugged in, so I reached behind the desk, found the cable by touch and it was indeed plugged in correctly.

Then for two hours I've tried:
* Toying with volume.
* Drivers.
* BIOS.
* Using a headphone in the front jackets (those worked)

I got desperate and threw the volume to 100% and when I sighed I was certain I heard music from one of the drawers. Turned out the cables I had found behind the desk were not the speakers, as one would assume, those were hanging next to the ones of the headphone in the drawer, which was actually connected.

Or better, on my business phone:
"Hello, Rami Ismail, Computer repairs and Graphics Design."
"Hello, with [forgot name]. My PC doesn't work." (Crap. Not one of those.)
"Okay, so, what exactly is the problem."
"The PC doesn't start up. It goes to that Windows screen and then restarts." (Oh dear...)
"What Windows do you have?"
"The one that came with my PC."

Sigh...

Rami, I feel your pain. I can't stand the interaction with customers while doing computer repairs. I wish they'd just let me do my thing sometimes and stop taking notes and asking questions that are unanswerable in a way they could ever possibly understand. If they'd just drop it off at my house with a sheet of paper explaining the problem, and come pick it up and leave me another piece of paper (either check or cash, but cash is preferable ^_^)

I'm looking at some IT help desk true stories and found a great one liner.
Quote: "Customer: 'Do I need a computer to use your software?' "

Some people are thick as sh**

Quote: "Tech Support: 'What type of computer do you have?'

Customer: 'A white one.' "

hahaha I bet that was a woman

Well that was half of it. He started to argue with me, "It should run I just got the PC last year!" This went on for 30 minutes.

oh yeah, last time I went to an apple store the guy told me that the reason Macs do not have viruses is because the hackers are paid by the Russians and the Chinese for each computer they infect and that Macs don't hold enough of the computer market for the Russians and the Chinese to care haha.

I dunno about the russians and chinese, but that is partially true. A big reason why they are more secure is because there aren't nearly as many viruses and evil programs and stuff targeting them as Windows holds most of the market. Might as well target the majority of people, no?
