Ok so i've been fooling around with things like landscape creator today, and then started thinking, which lead me to the realization that i cant even comprehend how terrain works at this very moment in time. i was searching around the forums for tutorials and couldnt find anything... does anyone know any websites that may have some good information about different aspects of terrains???

Advanced Terrain (part of DB Pro) also includes a example program. You'll find it in the DB Pro folder.

Did you make any progress yet? I'm working on Terrains a lot lately - and so are a few others I know - we've been hammering on them - that's why I ask.

What do you mean by World Size? The Advanced Terrain "Size" Maybe?

if so - change the scales, mess with tiling - Value of 16 works for bigger stuff...

I don't know what you mean exactly. Careful on Texture size though - trying to get a lot of "detail" usually chows vid ram if you use a huge super texture .. say 4096x4096.... I had better luck with advanced terrain's staying in the 1024x1024 "texture" range.

not quite i builot a mountain and turned it into an object. but after i go so far it disapers on me. i have the polycount showing and when i go past the distance it disappears. so i'm kind of fustrated the only thing i can think of is it's to big. it's big so i can fly over it but it keeps dissapering.

then play with SET CAMERA RANGE CamId,near, far

Also - You should be able to scale the mountain also.

Look at fog commands too. If you set fog on, and its color to match Backdrop color - and you make em both same color blue for example - You might like the Hazy Sky look.
