This is the dev log for chain of freedom. Chain of Freedom is a ww2 that has been in planning since 2003-2004. It has been started in three different game engines (including fpsc) but has been dropped each time due to engine limitations or team limitations. Our main team consist of three people (Me, Drapes#10, Dr Parsnips and bobert). The final game will be released in fpsc x10 but some beta levels will be done in fpsc x9 and transfered to x10.
Story: Your name is Cpl. Edwards. You are an American ww2 soldier of an unknown airborne division. You are with a troop of 12 men (4 privates, 5 Corporals, 2 Sargents and a Lieutenant). While getting ready to parachute from a plane, suddenly the whole world shakes, your spine rattles, you smell leaking fuel and all you here is people screaming. You realize that your plane has been hit and that it is going up in flames. You try to jump but something is holding you back. Looking down you realize that of your pant legs are caught in a piece of the now broken and flaming bench that you were sitting on. You keep tugging, and after about eight seconds you are let loose from the benches grip. Ready to jump, you look down and see that you are almost at the ground. There is no point in jumping you are too close... The whole entire world pauses for one second, the plane a foot above what looks to be the ground and then...
"You idiot, get up!"
"Where the he..." You doze off for another five seconds. "Where am I?"
"In the middle of a frigging war!"
"Am I dead?"
"Well your gonna be if you don't get the fu..."
"Alan, is that you?"
"Yeah, now get up!"
"How many of us are there?"
"Well including you, we got... Four men. Only useful ones r' me an' you though. Two friggin privates, what r' we supposed to do with them? Might as well feed em to the enemy."
"Where did the plane land?"
"Good question, ask pvt. What's his face over there. Drag every single one of us out of some farm, he said the plane crashed clean through the roof. We found an old house of some sort to stay in. If your up, were gonna be leaving 'bout twenty minutes."
"sounds good to me. Just let me get up."
From there you proceed to a village with your group of six. This village is a lot less calm. You soon join in the battle.
The story's a bit long but the game wouldn't make much sense without it. Here is just a few teaser screens.
