Try not to post comments, or such.
Will try to get an app sorted for gathering the information at some point, but for now just listing will be fine.

If you have multiple computers, please only list the one you use the most.

e.g.
CPU: AMD 2.0GHz 2-Cores
NET: 2Mbit Cable/xDSL
O/S: Vista (32bit)
GFX: NVIDIA GeForce 6100 nForce 405 VRAM 256MB
RAM: 768MB
SND: Realtek HD-Audio
HDD: 350GB SATA 3.0Gb
Media: BluRay
Language: English(UK)

.NET: 1.1, 2.0, 3.0
DirectX: 9.0c, 9.0Ex, 10
Xbox 360 Controller: Yes
Xbox 360 Headset: Yes
Xbox 360 Vision: Yes

(although most of you will no doubt have Microphones, I'm only interested in the Microsoft Xbox 360 periphirals)

Q: Do you prefer to Install or Run from Optical Media?
A: Optical Media

Q: How many hours a week do you play games on your PC?
A: 5-10

Q: Do you use digital distribution systems (i.e. Steam, Gametap, Direct2Drive. if yes, please list)?
A: Yes, Steam

Q: Do you have an Xbox Live account (if yes, Silver or Gold)?
A: Yes, Silver

Q: Have you used Games for Windows Live?
A: Yes

Q: Which of these services would you pay a subscription for:
Online Gaming (Dedicated Servers)
Matchmaking
Download/Streaming Television Series
Download/Streaming Movies
Software Beta Testing (Games, Tools)
Technical Support
Software Publishing Service (Games, Tools, Resources)
Software Retailing By Subscription (i.e. 5 free title downloads per month or such)
Music Albums or Tracks

A: As this is a list, probably don't need to list all of my choices I'm sure you can figure out how to do that heh

Q: For the services you have listed, what do you feel would be a reasonable subscription fee? (You can break this down in to individual fees for each service you listed)

A: Again I think this is self explainitory

Q: Do you prefer Digital or Physical software purchases?

A: Physical, but Digital is far easier.

Q: Is supporting PayPal for such a service important to you, or are traditional Credit Card methods enough?

A: PayPal is important to me, as it supports my credit cards but also my money feels safer in a pure digital-to-digital transaction rather than my card number which could be used anywhere.

Q: Do you prefer the security of purchasing using a "points" system that you buy, or would rather just knowing exactly what you're paying off the bat?

A: I quite like the idea of a "points" system, as I am worried each time I buy something over the internet that my details might become public knowledge.

Q: Do you own any current or last-generation consoles (i.e. Wii, Xbox 360 or Playstation 3. Please list those you have.)
A: Yes. Wii, GameCube, Xbox 360, PSOne, Playstation 2 Slim and Playstation 3.

Q: Do you prefer to use Windows Desktop, Xbox 360 Dashboard, WiiChannels or Playstation Xcross Media Bar? (you can list any other Front-end GUI you prefer)
A: Xbox 360 Dashboard

Q: If you have used Windows Media Center, do you like the layout?
A: Yes I have used it, but do not like the layout

Q: Do you currently use a desktop replacement system (i.e. Ruby, 3DBuzz, VirtualDesktop. If so please list)?
A: No

Q: If there was a Desktop replacement for Windows XP/Vista that allowed you to mimic your favourite console front-end would you use it?
A: Yes

Q: What do you feel is the best features of Steam, Xbox Live or Playstation Network? (skip if you have never used any of these)
A: Steam has a great community system allowing for similar interested gamers to play together across games without having to be direct friends. It also allows for multiple groups.
Steam also has an easy to find Server system that allows me to quickly view important information about each online game in-progress.

Xbox Live allows me to jump from game to game with friends, as well as letting me compete with achievements or leaderboards. It also has a system called MatchMaker which allows me to quickly play a game with similarly skilled players so online gaming is never too difficult or too easy.

Playstation Network allows me to view games-in-progress without actually joining to see if it is fun before joining, it also allows me to preview video before I actually download them fully with both a thumbnail and fullscreen preview.

----------------

Well that's basically an example with all of the questions.
Please try to answer them all, as I would like to compile some charts about the information provided.

The first section is mostly hardware related, the second are questions I'd like answered from as many people as possible.
That said the question section is completely optional, but if you leave a response without the first section I won't include it in my findings.

Q: Do you prefer to Install or Run from Optical Media?

A: Install and even "crack" my software to keep my discs safe, though I rarely do it.

Q: How many hours a week do you play games on your PC?
A: Anywhere from 0 to maybe up to 12 hours depending on the week

Q: Do you use digital distribution systems (i.e. Steam, Gametap, Direct2Drive. if yes, please list)?
A: Yes, Steam

Q: Do you have an Xbox Live account (if yes, Silver or Gold)?

A: No

Q: Have you used Games for Windows Live?
A: Yes - Lost Planet's multiplayer uses that I think, and it was horrible

Q: Which of these services would you pay a subscription for:
Online Gaming (Dedicated Servers) - probably not (why should I host my own when everyone else does it for me)
Matchmaking - no (foolish)
Download/Streaming Television Series - no (don't watch mutch tv)
Download/Streaming Movies - no (just go to the store and don't waste HD space)
Software Beta Testing (Games, Tools) - maybe (no idea of value)
Technical Support - no (I know more than them $0)
Software Publishing Service (Games, Tools, Resources) - maybe (no idea of value)
Software Retailing By Subscription (i.e. 5 free title downloads per month or such) - no
Music Albums or Tracks - yes (pay per song or album dealio)

MMORPG style pay to play systems - Yes, I have done that before ($10 monthly tops)

Q: For the services you have listed, what do you feel would be a reasonable subscription fee? (You can break this down in to individual fees for each service you listed)

A: See above

Q: Do you prefer Digital or Physical software purchases?

A: Physical, but Digital is far easier sometimes.

Q: Is supporting PayPal for such a service important to you, or are traditional Credit Card methods enough?

A: I'm pretty much supportive of PayPal and it does at least make things feel more secure but if I am making a one-time purchase and don't plan to return for any reason I may just use a simple credit card purchase.

Q: Do you prefer the security of purchasing using a "points" system that you buy, or would rather just knowing exactly what you're paying off the bat?

A: The Wii Points system is pretty awesome if you ask me. I'm pretty much all for it, but either way it's not a big deal to me.

Q: Do you own any current or last-generation consoles (i.e. Wii, Xbox 360 or Playstation 3. Please list those you have.)

A: I have a Wii, a broken Xbox1, Gamecube, PS1, Super Nintendo, Sega, SNES (yes I know these are all last last last gen and stuff )

Q: Do you prefer to use Windows Desktop, Xbox 360 Dashboard, WiiChannels or Playstation Xcross Media Bar? (you can list any other Front-end GUI you prefer)

A: Windows desktop, but on consoles I quite like the 360 and Wii Dashboards (never seen PS3)

Q: If you have used Windows Media Center, do you like the layout?

A: I have it on my laptop but it's a waste of hard drive space if that tell you anything. I'd never use it, very impractical

Q: Do you currently use a desktop replacement system (i.e. Ruby,
3DBuzz, VirtualDesktop. If so please list)?
A: I have some real skins in my windows directory so no.

Q: If there was a Desktop replacement for Windows XP/Vista that allowed you to mimic your favourite console front-end would you use it?
A: Absoultely not. Graphically bloated and not multitask friendly.

I agree with everything Raven just said, only I think Steam is crappy as far as stability goes.

This was alot more fun than one of those stupid MySpace surveys!

Thanks for those who have replied so far.
Bit-Torrent is not counted unless you own Bit-torrent from the official site and use their store; otherwise I'm going to assume you're using it for not so legal reasons.

You might now be as more and more people are using it for delivery systems (it's why I have it) but I'd say a good majority are using it because of certain websites that are not distributing things legally

I do need more people to complete this though, really need a clear picture on how this community feels about this sort of thing as well as knowing the adverage system specifications.

Finally free of that irritating newbie slap now, so can bump this; however I plan to be away from the forums for a while at least over christmas if not longer; so be sure to provide these soon.

Illegal? No, never. ^^
Anyways, you've got lots of sites allowing BitTorrent download these days. For example, the Penumbra Tech Demo.
