MS Sans Serif I think, I always get it confused with Arial because it looks the same.

Sans Serif is the default font in most M$ applications.

In Windows Vista it's segoe UI (I think that's the correct spelling).

The all time best universal font is Verdana.

What's "iirc"? I've always assumed that you meant "Found out on internet chatroom" by that.

As a universal (for web pages and such) I go for Ariel because Windows,Mac and Linux have it, but sometimes called Helvetica

And if you want to get the 'x' used in MDI child windows when they are maximized, it's 'System' (Don't ask me how I found that out)
