Ok, i'm pretty sure this classifies as geek culture

I have a laptop that i installed ubuntu on several weeks ago and i now need to re-install windows (so i can sell the laptop).

I stuck the first recovery disk in and hit f2 as the bios came up... i then selected "boot from cd"... then ubuntu started anyway!

i'm not really sure what the problem is here.
[edit] i was reffered to this by one of my friends... but i won't have a chance to try it out until tomorrow

I don't mean to be rude, but if it was a dodgy copy of windows it may not have been burned as an ISO so has no boot sector on the CD.

If it's not that try deleting the partitions and restart them as a single large partition. WARNING this kills all your files on their too!

well unless acer provides dodgy copies of windows as system restore disks then no that isn't the problem ...

i just stayed up all night to get a sony laptop i'm typing from, and i know there isn't much point to this post... but i'm so stinkin tired i ca't think enough to decide whether i should post it or not or whatever,

i need to go take a really long nap.
