I believe it's harder to register somewhere, post a thread, and ask that question.

....In case you're serious, just like any other file i guess?

I think he means how do you open and extract it. If that's what you mean, google IZarc.

7Zip is the best because it does everything WinRAR can do, and its free.

Why can't you have both? WinRAR doesn't support 7z format. But 7z doesn't support all the formats WinRAR does.

... Which they wont, subsequently deleting your game.

You've just put up another roadblock between yourself and your gamers. You are now one step further away than you were when you released the game.

I have to agree with JessT. I know I wouldnt download and install some compression app just to run someone's independent game. I would think more people are like that than not, but maybe I am wrong about others. Zip has been a mainstay forever, rar got slowly accepted, and while 7zip might be cool, its not mainstream. So when it comes to something like getting notariety for you hard work as a game coder, then it would best to use the compression mainstream standard (whether its the best or not) to have the best chances of people downloading and running your game.

or a 7z self extractor would work too

or post a zip a rar and a 7zip, and youll have all the bases covered
