Does anyone have a good tutorial on the process involved in making overlays. I have tried and tried, the only thing I have gained is the need for a new keyboard since I destroyed this one lol. Seriously though I need some help with this one.

I am currently using anim8or for my primary modeling and have recently purchased 3DS Max 2008. I will continue to use anim8or until I feel comfortable with Modeling in Max. for UV mapping I use UV Mapper, For poly reduction Needs I use Action 3D Reducer and for texturing I use a combination of The Gimp, Photoshop, Texture Maker, and Finally Genetica.

If you want to produce quality models and textures you really do need to spend at least a little cash and a little time learning the ins and outs.

I hope this helps.

Not necessarily, I have done all my models in anim8tor and have textured in paint.net. I do have other programs, like PS or Genetica, I just don't use them as often.

I don't use overlays, but it's very easy figure out how to create them. It takes less than a minute.

The mesh is here: meshbank\common\overlay.x so you just create texture, *.fpe, *.bmp... you know the story.
(The original overlays are here: entitybank\generic\overlays)

I've never used that program, but the description says it's for overlays.
