PocketDOS

DOS Emulator

Shareware

Hi, I wanted to see if I could play X-Wing on my PDA with an emulator, so I searched on goolgle and found an application called pocketDOS, but rather than yammer on here about it, I produce a quick video showing the software in action on my PDA.

As you can see it works quite well, dispite my outdated hardware.

I'm going to have a look around for other emulators it might have more luck with, for instance, Atari ST, specturm, Amiga, etc. If I find anything good I'll do another video.

CastCE 1.2

Atari ST Emulator

FREE!

This Emulator produced far better results then the DOS version. Plus there's thousands of games out there for the Atari ST, so it's a great way of expanding your games list on any PocketPC device. Futhermore, older windows CE and Windows mobile 2002+ devices should be powerful enough to run this software. Anyway, once again, you will be able to watch a video rather then take my word for it. Once again I test the game Elite. The Atari ST version was far prettier I think you'll agree.

You can try dosbox which I believe is open source, and free

I think that's what you mentioned in the video too. Unfortunately it (dosbox) didn't work on my pda, mine didn't have enough ram.

But my nes emulator runs quite well

I used to use QBasic on it until I broke the screen playing snooker.

there is a port called pDOSBox but I couldn't get it to run, but then I didn't try for long either.

I just did a quick review on CastCE as well, look at the first post to see the addition.

Wow a massive lack of Pocket PC users there are here. Guess you're all playing nintendos!

There is more soft. for Palm. You could also just make an emulator with Plua if you had a palm...

I doubt it, there's tons of stuff for the PocketPC and it has a windows like file system to play with. The Palm file system is horrible to use. Everything has to be synced as part of a program. It's restrictive and unessassary. With PocketPC I can just open file explorer and run software from the drive and litter files all around without having to have permission from my Palm OS. All Palm seems to be is a big database. It lacks flexibility.

I also notice that games such as Darxide EMP arn't being made for PalmOS
