Would I have to buy the game to get the editor engine 3? Or is it entirely through contacting Epic?

I've looked on the Website and on the internet searches, and all i could surmise is that I have to contact epic. But I recall that Unreal Tournament 2004 came with the Unreal Editor 2 with the CD game version. So I don't know if the Unreal Editor 3 comes with the game or not.

Thanks.

Now I know that Half Life 2: Source, comes with the Hammer Editor. That was fun to mess around with. But I just can't seem to find out anything about Unreal Editor.

Any info would be great.

I think you can use it if you buy the game as a MOD type thing. But you would have to contact Unreal to actually get the engine, and then it would probably cost an arm and a leg.

You will be dearly missed.

Unreal Engine 2 cost $250,000 - imagine what Unreal Engine 3 costs, though there is a demo to play with of Unreal Engine 2 (for modders I think) and I don't think they've released one for number 3, just look for the Unreal Engine website.

Clearly he's after UnrealEd as opposed to the actual engine/SDK though

then he can download unreal demo 2 as i said. If he can't find it (though it's very easy to find) then here's a link:

thanks everyone, very helpful. I already have UT2 Engine Editor, but I'm glad to hear that UT3 comes with the Editor 3. Thanks mnemonix.

EDIT: So I bought UT3 and indeed, it does come with the editor. It appears to be the full version, save the license of course.
